Exclusive: 'CSI: NY' says RIP to one of its own
Mar 5, 2009, 01:53 PM | by Michael Ausiello

"That's right," says CSI: NY executive producer Peter Lenkov. "We lose a member of our family [in the season finale] -- and that's just in the first 10 minutes."

The other 50 minutes of the hour will probably be pretty killer, too. Leading up to it is episode 5.22, titled "Yarzheit," which features not only Lou Grant... er, Ed Asner but also comic legend Shelley Berman. In this one, "Our CSIs find themselves investigating a crime that takes them into the world of racism and bigotry, only to uncover a deep, dark secret that dates back to the Holocaust," teases Lenkov. "Also in this episode, Mac will learn something about his father he never knew.

"And in the season finale" -- which also has Craig T. Nelson winding up his arc -- "the CSI: NY team is on the trail of a team of sophisticated kidnappers-turned-cop killers," he continues. "Their crime will forever change the CSI: NY lineup."

All I have to say is that they had better NOT kill off Danny or Lindsey!!!!! I stopped watching ER because they killed off Mark Greene, and I can do it again if they kill off either of them. I was happy with last night's episode and the wedding at the end.....soooooo cute!!!!!

Ragin...any rumors about who it will be? Let me know if you find anything out. Thanks hug

Bunny, I'm with you, because I thought it was strange that
Danny and Lindsey got married, unless it was for sweeps. I just hope it's not one of them...I'm still trying to get use to CSI: LV, since Grissom left.

Much of the speculation that I'm hearing is that it's Det. Angell (the one getting close with Flack). smile

Barbie...I can't really get into CSI since Grissom left. It just doesn't seem right to me. And is it just me or does the show seem darker now? I don't mean tone, I mean it just looks dark all the time. I don't know, I'm just not feeling the same since he left. I have even missed some episodes and didn't bother to tape them. It seems I am only left with CSI:NY...I stopped watching Miami a while ago. HoCain was just too stupid, even if the show was great to look at. I have been watching Medium or just going to bed early.

BBD,

I like LF in the role. Yes, he does give the whole show a different vibe than Grissom, but I don't see it as a bad thing. Personally, I was getting a little tired of Grissom's damn brooding every episode. BTW, that final segment with Reese and Langston as hostages in the cellar last night was simply f'ing awesome. It had Duane and me on the edge of our seat.

I also appreciate the fact that we're seeing more of the other characters. I loved, loved, loved seeing a whole episode centering around my boy Nick last week, and both Katherine and Greg got quite a bit of airtime last night.

The biggest problem I see is they really have not fleshed out the characters of Langston and Reese yet. I hope they give us some personal stories of them over the rest of this season to give the audience a chance to connect with them. Hell, I mentioned over in the WDYT forum that Angela Bassett is now out of a job with ER's concluding, so maybe they should bring her over to CSI to be Langston's "Sara" or "Lady Heather"??! She could be a new policewoman or district attorney who shares a past with him. smile

I loved seeing Nick too! But I had to record last night's episode. I'll watch it tonight.

How is killing of Angell going to 'forever change the CSI:NY line-up'?

Don't think it's going to be Angell. I really think it's going to be Danny or Lindsey...just a feeling. I'll just wait and see.

Since this news broke, the past week's episode had me on the edge of my seat. It seemed like they put just about everyone's lives in danger???! eek

You know, there is one other one that we haven't mentioned yet and his death would forever change the lineup - the coroner. smile

Oh My Gawd.....this is Killing me!!!! Barbie, I really hope you are wrong and the producers are toying with us. I have a list of characters that they can't kill off: leading the pack is Danny or Lindsey, next is Stella or Mac. Flack would make me cry, but I would survive to watch another episode (I'm sure they could find some new beefcake for me to look at). Any of the others I could handle....but you CANNOT kill Danny or Lindsey. It's the whole baby thing...you just can't do that. When is the finale anyway. How long do I have to obsess about this? passout

What if Stella got that girl cop (forgot her name) killed in her private investigation. She didn't tell Mac about it and he could demote her to janitor or something. He would never trust her and their friendship would be forever strained. That could change the show. Just grasping at straws here. grin

Bunny, I don't kmow when the season finale is. The only reason I'm thinking of Lindsey (Anna Belknap) in real life she is having her second child, so who knows, she might want to stay home with her children. cry

BUT, ragin could be on to something, could be the coroner.

We'll find out soon enough..enjoy spring!!

I really don't think that it will Det. Angel only because they keep saying that it is going to change the whole line up. Could it be Flack --- I hope not! I think that it will be Danny or Lindsey; however if they are talking about seriously changing the whole line up --- it might be Mack or Stella --- any of them would be a loss. If it is just money why not pay them --- this, like the other CSI's are top rated shows. Get rid of some of the other crappy shows!

I'm enjoying Langston too. I HAVE noticed it's dark. I think they are trying to save money on the sets? But it is really silly for them to be examining a crime scene with their little flashlights!
I just recently started watching CSI:NY but it seems so phony....the CSIs barging into a room with their guns drawn and a COP coming in after them! I'm not sure I can stand much more of that. I mean I know it is TV but come on... there has to be some reality in it.

Craig T. Nelson made his first appearance last night April 15th and is winding up his arc on the season finale. So when is the season finale?

I know a lot of people like Danny and Lindsey but if they are talking "forever changing" it will have to be Mac (who would probably cause me to stop watching) or Stella. Danny would run a close third but thats it. All the others are good to have around and good on the show but could be replaced with equally good actors.

Now if Lindsey dies during child birth, that would change everything because Danny would then become a single father. That would change who he is and how he acts a lot.

I'm choosing to believe that one or two got shot, but they survive. I am thinking that maybe Stella got hit. I read somewhere that next year her and Mac become more than friends, and this could be where that starts. I did notice that they had them looking at each other funny in the Greece episode. I'm glad that the death was Angell. I wasn't all that invested in her character. I was kind of shocked that Flack killed the perp. Not upset, just shocked that they would go there.

Good finale.

Good finale. I also read somewhere that Mac and Stella were going to be romantically involved, so that's a good point that maybe Stella got hit, and this is where it will start. As ragin said, hope none of the cast are having contract problems, I still don't want to see anybody leave.

It was good, but not great. I think the finale a couple years back where it looked like Mac was leaving was better then this one.
