Exclusive: ' CSI: NY' says RIP to one of its own Mar 5, 2009, 01:53 PM | by Michael Ausiello "That's right," says CSI: NY executive producer Peter Lenkov. "We lose a member of our family [in the season finale] -- and that's just in the first 10 minutes." The other 50 minutes of the hour will probably be pretty killer, too. Leading up to it is episode 5.22, titled "Yarzheit," which features not only Lou Grant... er, Ed Asner but also comic legend Shelley Berman. In this one, "Our CSIs find themselves investigating a crime that takes them into the world of racism and bigotry, only to uncover a deep, dark secret that dates back to the Holocaust," teases Lenkov. "Also in this episode, Mac will learn something about his father he never knew. "And in the season finale" -- which also has Craig T. Nelson winding up his arc -- "the CSI: NY team is on the trail of a team of sophisticated kidnappers-turned-cop killers," he continues. "Their crime will forever change the CSI: NY lineup." http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/03/exclusive-csi-n.html

BBD, I like LF in the role. Yes, he does give the whole show a different vibe than Grissom, but I don't see it as a bad thing. Personally, I was getting a little tired of Grissom's damn brooding every episode. BTW, that final segment with Reese and Langston as hostages in the cellar last night was simply f'ing awesome. It had Duane and me on the edge of our seat. I also appreciate the fact that we're seeing more of the other characters. I loved, loved, loved seeing a whole episode centering around my boy Nick last week, and both Katherine and Greg got quite a bit of airtime last night. The biggest problem I see is they really have not fleshed out the characters of Langston and Reese yet. I hope they give us some personal stories of them over the rest of this season to give the audience a chance to connect with them. Hell, I mentioned over in the WDYT forum that Angela Bassett is now out of a job with ER's concluding, so maybe they should bring her over to CSI to be Langston's "Sara" or "Lady Heather"??! She could be a new policewoman or district attorney who shares a past with him.
