'NCIS' shocker: A 'tragic' fate for Tony and Ziva

"Tiva" fans, I've got good news for you, and, as the title of this story suggests, bad news -- potentially very bad news. But hey, first the good: NCIS executive producer Shane Brennan tells me that for viewers who are in love with the duo -- and I know there are lots of you -- "the last four episodes of the season are going to be amazing. They will not believe what's in store for these characters. We focus on Tony (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva (Cote de Pablo) in a way that we haven't focused on them in six seasons!

"I'm very serious," he adds. "They carry the last four episodes in a way that is really, really shocking, and in a way, the audience will not see any of this coming."

Okay, you've got my attention. Now tell me more. "It starts with part one of "Legend" on April 28, which is the spin-off episode," Brennan says. "Now, having said that, it doesn't really start in part one. We've been sowing the seeds of this for some time. And the audience is aware there's a character out there called Michael Rifkin (Merik Tadros), because he was introduced in the first episode of Season 6. And they know Tony's aware of Michael's existence. So let's just say, in the last four episodes, Michael makes his appearance in a big way.

"You've got what you might want to call a triangle," he continues. "It's a triangle with very, very pointy ends. Someone's going to get hurt."

As in, um, dead hurt? "Something tragic will happen to Tony," Brennan confirms. "Something tragic will happen to Ziva as well. It's one of those arcs that has been building and building and building for so long that we decided it really deserved to be featured in a big way. It's emotionally and physically explosive."

"Physically explosive" doesn't sound good. But the boss won't reveal whether anyone, much less either of Tiva's portrayers, is on their way out. "Possibly," he teases. "I won't take it any further than that."

What do you think they are going to do? It seems like they are going to hook up, but how can this have a tragic ending? I can't see the show without Tony. They had better not kill off another female agent. I still haven't gotten over Ari killing Kate!!! Keep us informed Ragin.

Looking forward to the last four episodes of the season! I just hope they keep the group together. Now, if someone wants to leave, I have no control over that. Meantime, I'll continue watching, and anxious for the spin off.

if they were to kill off tony or ziva the show would not be the same and i think they would probably lose alot of viewers, especially me

Not going to happen. I think Ziva is preggers...and she loses the baby....just a gut feeling. She has been looking a little heavy and she stopped going to her trainer...

Just watched NCIS tonight..such a good show. I hope they don't mess with it and no I changed my mind...ziva can't be pregnant.

I'll just have to wait and see....

I feel the exact same way....but I would be especially devastated if Tony left. His McEuphemisms are legendary. I laugh out loud almost every time he uses one.

I didn't want to like Ziva when they brought her in to replace Kate, but she's definitely grown on me....although she is at her best WITH a team member.

I don't want anyone to go. (Although I could live without the new Director, Ducky or Ducky's assistant)

Losing Kate was bad... really bad. Ziva grew on me too, and I do like her now, especially the way she tries to use American saying but doesn't quite get them right. The fact that Ziva came in and found a way to fit in is actually remarkable considering the chemistry of the trio Tony, Kate, and McGee, but she did.

But if we Lost Tony? It wouldn't be the show I love to watch. And another guy stepping in would just be a copycat or so different I can't imagine being interested. (Not that Gibbs would ever replace him with just another guy.)

Anyway, hopefully the four shows will be great TV, but they better not take away Tony or Gibbs.

I couldn't watch it if they took away Gibbs. Ziva grew on me too! I sure hope they leave Tony and Abby! Look forward to the last 4 episodes. Nice seeing you Spring.

The only person that should get killed in the 2009 season finale is Michael. I wouldn't be surprised if either Ziva or Tony gets hurt in one way or the other. This has been my favorite TV series for a long, long time. If they take away any of the current characters it just would not be the same and some of us might lose interest. Thank you

ok i did not like ziva at first but she grows on you however if she gets killed off the show like they are sugesting is going to happen then i would be fine with that. however if you kill off tony i will boycott the show and the new episodes will not be watched in my House atleast and several of my friends houses. tony is the heart and soul of the team! you cannot touch him!
therefore DO NOT TOUCH TONY!!! or the show will be gone it will lose something. and the show will end quickly. becuase he is the best one on there next to gibbs.

Spring, did you watch the season finale. I enjoyed it, but don't want to give anything away. I was happy with the way the story went.

I want Ziva to come back to NCIS, and definitely want to see Tony and Ziva as a couple. I LOVE THIS SHOW.

I just discovered this WONDERFUL show this year - after watching how to shows for the last 5 years. Now I am hooked. I love all the characters and even watch the reruns on USA. Let's hope September gets here fast!

*gags* If Tony and Ziva become a couple I for one will be leaving NCIS behind.
