This episode took me from real irritation at Rodeman to feeling incredibly sad for his situation. When Jesse compared Herschel and Dennis, that was the moment. I'm actually glad the men Lost because Dennis really needed to go and should have gone before this.

On the more positive side, Tia(?) really took charge and led the women's team. Joan seemed to make a good concierge and the women's comments about having to clean the rooms were hilarious.

I agree with all you said. I'm glad Dennis Rodman is gone finally... hope he gets help too.

I agree w/ Joan, it started to feel more like an Intervention in the boardroom. You could see the seriousness, concern, and actual SADNESS on everyone's face as Rodman's drinking problem was brought up. Jesse looked like his dog had died--I guess he truly realizes the seriousness of the problem, having been through it himself.
I thought it was responsible of the show to put up the Al-Anon blurb at the end; instead of just treating someone's addiction as mere entertainment, they acknowledged that some viewers might also need help in this regard.

That said, I'm sorry the men Lost; it seems to soon to combine teams, but you know that's what's next. I didn't realize T-Boz was the women's PM (missed the beginning); I thought it was Joan, but all the women worked hard (Natalie needs to learn to keep some stuff to herself, though). I'm impressed w/ Brande--I never thought I would be considering her profession--she seems smart & capable (I even told hubby about it, since he hasn't really watched the show before).

Oh, one more thing: hubby said after they walked out of the boardroom, Jesse & Annie had arms around eachother & then were holding hands. I didn't see that; did anyone else? Isn't he still married to Sandra Bullock?

I think Annie was just supporting him. She could see how much Jesse was hurting.

The last 45 minutes of the show was just sad. I don't like Rodman or his bad boy attitude but I really felt bad for him at the end. He seemed to realize he had no defense. I hope this mini Intervention worked for him and he gets the help he needs. Where private embarrassment from drinking can be hidden this public spectacle will hopefully give him the push he really needs.

As for the ladies I like TBOz?? the golfer, the playboy girl. Chloe is a pain and Joan and Melissa get on my last nerve. Joan needs to untie those apron strings. Joan is funny and works hard and well but I hate looking at her plastic gace. Yuch. Plastic surgery should enhance beuaty not turn them into barbie doll like faces.

I only watched the last hour and I do agree with your post! It really was sad and I hope Rodman does get some help!

I saw Annie and Jesse walking out and they did have their arms around each other. But I have a feeling Annie was emotionally vested in the whole drinking problem issue. She was shaking her head in agreement with every word Jesse said. So I think they were just giving each other support and I think she was trying to let Jesse know that he was not alone in the way he was feeling / thinking.

I know a lot of people don't like Dennis but I always found him amusing. frown Not last night though, it was just sad. I've seen Jesse on a lot of other things, but I've never seen him get so emotional before. I knew he was going to speak up, but I think the way he did it shows that he's got class, more then a lot of people give him credit for.

I've still got him fingers crossed for him to win it. smile

Actually I am pulling for him or Herschel or the R&B guy. I'm not too impressed with the women's team this time although the last task PM was good but she seems to have been almost invisible up until now.

I thought the show could have been an hour this week...2 hours just seemed to drag! I hope Dennis gets the help he needs, but I'm not sure if he will. From the previews, it looks like the teams will get shuffled...wonder what the big surprise/shock will be? My faves are Jesse, Brandi & Annie. I think that Khloe will be the next to go...the Donald doesn't seem to have much use for her...he didn't comment on Joan missing a couple of days so far, but mentioned it to Khloe in the boardroom. Melissa was pretty much invisible last night (except for complaining about having to clean). I loved how they all got a new appreciation for hotel staff...Annie made comment that she'll leave $100 tips for her housekeepers in the future!

I missed the show due to vacation.
What is it all I read about Dennis having a drinking problem?
Was he drunk on the show?
I am one who never liked him, I have seen him in person and around people who wanted his autograph or a picture... not very pleasant.
Happy I don't have to see him on the show anymore.

the task was running a hotel (or at least 5 rooms in the hotel)...from check-in, concierge, room service & housekeeping. Dennis was the pm for the men...he started off OK (the men said he did a good job for 4 hours). Then he started drinking, they kept showing him going to the kitchen to get a vodka/cranberry. At one point, he got 2 of their guests dinner reservations at Tao and he got in the car with them & went to dinner with them. Overall, the men did OK - got 86% rating. The women won with a 91% rating from the guests.

Am I the only one who has always heard vodka & cranberry referred to as a "Cape Cod" or "Cape Codder"?

You're right string...I always referred to them as a Cape Cod...and, I think a sea breeze is vodka, cranberry & pinapple?

This is the first episode of this show I have ever watched.

And my first impression is...

Joan looks 10 times better than her daughter Melissa.

I was surprised to learn there are TV watchers out there who have never even HEARD of this show. eek A coworker was asking if I watched American Idle, and when I replied no, that I watch Celebrity Apprentice, he & another coworker who was listening both acted like they'd never heard of it before. He even mentioned it as "obscure".

Well, that is kind of surprising...

But in my case, I've known about the show since it started many years ago. I've just never been interested in watching it.

I wasn't interested at 1st, but I ended up seeing an episode the 1st season & was hooked. I was really fascinated w/ the business ideas a lot of these people had, and how driven they were. I've watched it ever since, although some seasons haven't been as good. I even watched the Martha Stewart version, which was good although NBC killed it by putting it the same time of year w/ the original, and I believe up against some powerhouse like Survivor or American Idle.
