Wasn't this show about to be cancelled until he decided to use celebrities? I'm not sure if I'm remembering that correctly. But, I agree, I think it was more entertaining before. People really had to use their talents and not just "who they know".

Yes, it was about to be cancelled (or was cancelled, but brought back to life - something like that).

I don't know... I'm torn about it. On the one hand, the regular Apprentice was great the first two seasons, but I got really bored with it after that. I didn't even watch the last two seasons of it. If they did do another regular Apprentice, they need to make sure they have talent there, but also big, fun personalities as well. A lot of times the players were too boring.

On the other hand, I have really enjoyed Celebrity Apprentice, especially this current one. It's such a trainwreck at times, but entertaining too. The inflated egos, the sassy attitudes, the b!tchery, the back-stabbing - it's all fun to watch - even if it is somewhat scripted (or feels that way at times).

There have been rumors that NBC was considering the idea of doing 2 Apprentice shows (one in the fall and one in the spring - one being the regular Apprentice and the other being the Celebrity one) but haven't heard what they decided.

I watched The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice since its inception. I was bored after the first two seasons too, Bats. Celebrity Apprentice breathed new life into the show. I have enjoyed both seasons of CA. I wouldn't mind to go back to the original and see if there is still the same spark.

How about making the celebrities work as ordinary candidates -- no calling anyone for money, but having to convince people to buy their idea or product to earn the money for a charity?

Good idea, but you know DT wants to see how many big stars he can connect w/ his show. He gets peeved & fires people when they DON'T use their celeb connections.
