My daughter and I used to watch the Gilmore Girls dvds together as a fun mom/daughter thing to do when we had a free weekend to veg. Unfortunately we finished them...

Anyway, we're looking for something else we might both enjoy together. Buffy was one suggestion from good friend here at Zap (which I'm in favor of trying), but my daughter heard about this show and suggested it.

Knowing we liked the Gilmore Girls, would we like this one? (Important part of that - is the writing any good?)

I haven't watched Gilmore Girls so I can't compare. How old is your daughter? I watch Gossip Girl with LurkieGirl (she's 17 now ) or we watch it separately and talk about things. It's very over the top...lots of teenage sex & underage drinking among the rich folks of the Upper East side of NYC. There are times that I get uncomfortable watching it with her...but it is a great conversation starter about teenage behavior.

Hopefully someone who has watched Gilmore Girls will post & give you their opinion.

Thanks Lurky! You said pretty much what Frannie told me about it. My daughter is 16 1/2. It's a show she heard about so I figured I'd check it out but it sounds like we might be embarrassed to watch together and that's what I was going for. Plus, I have other younger boys around too, so I'm not sure about it now.

Speaking of whom... Littlest Spring is getting closer to 3 years old. (Yes! It's been that long!) He's very cute and talking some. I'm back to potty training. Gee... thought I was done with that 6 years ago!

It's a very good show.

Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, they are also good.

Yeah this was awesome.

I have been a huge fan for almost the entire series. Awesome show and I think they'll be one of the few series that can transition from high school to college.

This show is getting a little too superficial for me...anybody else?
