I hope not! Lost is still churning around in my sore brain.

Since conversation has died out in the forum, I've moved over to Ryan's posts....and Erika's blog.....and Jo's blog.....

A lot of my friends think that Jacob and Darkman are really Horus and Seth of ancient Egyptian mythology. I have another friend who insists that they are from the Lost city of Atlantis. Yet another friend thinks they are aliens - kind of like a Stargate story.

Here is a link to a short summary of Horus and Seth:

Horus and Seth Link

I'm kind of leaning toward this kind of explanation - it may not be Horus and Seth persay, but I think it's something along these lines. Personally, I'm not thinking too much about it and patiently waiting for the final season that will reveal all. grin

Thanks for the link, batmanbrb. It occurred to me, while reading it, that ancient humans came up with these gods (which are fairly universal from one culture to the next) because they didn't have the scientific knowledge to explain what they didn't understand. They didn't know that the Earth is a spinning ball which orbits the Sun and that's why there is day and night. Instead, humans came up with gods that controlled and explained these things. They also didn't know that day and night, light and dark, good and evil all co-exist with each other, in my opinion.

All of the theories you've heard are certainly a possibility. I think that Lost is a hybrid of one or more of those things. I do believe that Desmond was correct when he said that they were all "pieces" in someone's game. I think they've pointed us in the direction of who is playing The Game. Now, what is the result/purpose/reward/prize for the winner of this game? Are these guys simply amusing themselves out of boredom? Are they simply competitive with each other? Or, is there a higher purpose for The Game? The survival of mankind or the world, perhaps?

I have difficulty with the good vs. evil and the free will vs. fate debates. While I mostly believe in free will, I also believe that fate plays a role too. Furthermore, I believe that good and/or evil cannot exist without the other....

My twitter gave me this info today: Getting Lost - Man # 2

Did not give anything away, but the actor did give his opinion on an interesting point... .however I did not think it was really spoilerish.
