Former American Idol Contestant Killed

Former American Idol contestant Alexis Cohen was killed early Saturday morning after being struck by a car in Seaside Heights, N.J., the Associated Press reports.

An autopsy revealed that the 25-year-old singer suffered head, chest and abdominal injuries.

Cohen was discovered unconscious on the side of the road at 4 a.m. and pronounced dead at 6:35 a.m. at the Community Medical Center in Toms River.

Cohen, who auditioned for Idol in seasons 7 and 8, gained attention for her tirade against judge Simon Cowell, who rejected her performance.

An investigation on the collision is underway.

I saw this on the front page here last night. They didn't have any details other then she was found dead. I was wondering what happened, so Thanks for the update.

I read yesterday that they arrested a guy in connection with the hit and run.

She was that Glitter girl right? Sounded like Janis Joplin? If she is... she is the one that swore at Simon, and told him to take it while giving both middle fingers.

I think she was a little off, but thought she did Joplin good. Sad either way.
