I am now totally tired of Robert. Couldn't stand the way he blamed his partner for the sausages. I have made sausage before. Like Ramsey said, it is a team effort. You both have to work together for it to work right. If the casing is splitting, there are two things wrong. Yes, he is not taking it fast enough BUT it also means Robert is cranking too fast. Teamwork isn't "This is what i'm doing so you'd better keep up".

Then he throws a freakin hissy fit during service and even Ramsey thinks he is too loud. Time to go home. raspberry

I'm now giving Robert another chance...very emotional show tonight, at least before the so called chefs hit the kitchen.
Sheese, what am I watching. The guys did good, but those gals, what a disaster... shakehead

Totally agree. What a freakin mess! Ramsey is right. The guys are beating them with 2 men injured.

Suzanne... good Lord! Even I heard the woman say GRILLED lobster tail. Plus, they are talking about bringing in friends of a marine, which probably means more MARINES. These guys want steak. Not shi shi pooh pooh stuff.

I had to wonder if they even let Robert in a plane (they didn't show any clips of him in the air). I'm sorry but the guy is huge. I don't know if he would fit in one of those cockpits. That was one "reward" where I would have been staying on the ground. I'm fine to fly in a straight line but don't think I could handle all those flips.

Can't understand Tek's problem. A chef that can't cook steak? Must just be a pressure thing. Kudos to Whoopie for standing up for herself at elimination. She has sucked in the past but didn't deserve being nominated last night (her voice is really starting to grate on me though).

I'm also thinking the women's team has too many leaders. The guys seem to be willing to (momentarily) give over leadership and take direction from each other when the situation calls for it.

Oh, and I disagree with Jim (was that his name?). I don't think he would have completed that steaks as well without the support from Kevin. It's easy to say you didn't need him after he has already bailed you out.

I was very impressed with how well the guys worked together last night. I'm not surprised by the girls, it was noticeable from the start that they were just all to catty and wanted to fight more then cook.

And how do you not understand southern to mean soul food and that grilled LOBSTER does not mean grilled shrimp.

I had some reservations when I saw what the guys had to do for the prep tonight. I wonder if Robert had the option of not doing the physical part. At the least he should have gotten off and said it was causing him pain. I'm rather tired of all of them. Not a real stand out in the mess.

I wondered about Robert doing the physical part! I still think Ramsey brought him back because he felt bad, but really not fair if Robert couldn't just say no.

As far as the rest of the show, I have to agree with you phoenix...it's one big mess. Not even one I can get behind!

Anybody here watch Tob Chef on Bravo. It starts the 19th. I'm going to give it a try. It has to be better then listening to Ramsey...to much yelling, but he really is a nice guy! To bad all I see is his swearing!

I kind of like Kevin and Dave (I think his name is). There is one girl too. Is it Arial?

Seems like a very physical challenge to ask Robert to do. On the other hand, how can he be in the competition if he has to keep sitting out of tasks? Felt bad for Robert but wasn't really fair for him to get a free pass. You don't sit out of a race because your leg hurts and get told, "That's OK. You can run in the semifinals."

Knew the girls would kick butt on the reward challenge. Most guys just have no idea about counting calories and how to get more taste out of less fat.

Lot of poor performers tonight. Sabrina shone on the reward and then tanked on the service. Jim also sucked and so did Andy. Can't believe Whoopie could swear at him like that and not get kicked out. Suzanne bugs me too. I wonder if she purposely gives bad advice.

Bit shocking that he would pick Jim when he wasn't nominated. kind of says that the nominations are just for show and everyone is up every night.

At least, with jim gone, I won't get him confused with Andy anymore. Reddish hair, making rude comments about the women, it was hard to tell them apart.

Great observations Canuck...well I did try Top Chef, not crazy about it, very different show, so not ready to give up on Hell Kitchen. Besides it holds my interest and gives me a few laughs.

I like Top Chef better than Hell's Kitchen. With Top Chef I get to see all the techniques and some of the recipes. I am always so amazed at the skill of these chefs to cook a dish in just a few minutes or come up with something different using a given ingredient. Chopped actually is even more fun as they are given this basket of "secret" ingredients that they have to use-with anything else they need-in the dish. They have to do an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. Its always a protein, fruit and or vegetable and something weird. star fruit, octopus, peanut butter and bitter greens would be an example. They get twenty minutes for the appetizer, thirty for the entree and dessert.

But Hell's Kitchen is drama, and it revolves around Ramsey and how he treats the chefs. Its two different shows. I'd love to see more of how the chef's cook their signature dishes or the menus that they cook each week, what goes into them but this is purely drama.

I'm a fan of all 3 that you mentioned Phoenix. But I also watch Gordon on BBC so like I've said in other posts, you do get to see a different side of him. He does use the F word a lot though, but that just seems to be his way. Even when he's joking with friends he's using it. Most of the "people" you see him or other celebrity's talking to on the show use that word a lot.

Hehe example, on Thurs. "F Word" show (yes, F word is the name of the show, it stands for food) he was in the kitchen with a woman who I guess is a comedian from there. She said something and then said "for Jesus sake" then said "oh wait, that might offend people, I better say for F*ck sake". And they both laughed.

He seems like a really good dad though, and I think over any drama he'll play up for tv, thats what's really important. The person he is in real life. But you know, you have to admit most of the people they get on Hells Kitchen act like they come from working in McDonalds and can't even fry a burger to order. So it would be understandable that he gets so mad when they say they know what they are doing.

It is astounding how some of these professional chefs can get on the show and have trouble.

On the other hand, they may not be used to working under such pressure and time constraints. They probably also don't usually get periodically woken up in the wee hours of the morning. It is all geared to put them on edge and add to the drama.

Spoilers. Don't scroll down if you don't want to know.

Pretty good show last night. Have to say that the guys did well making their reward dish. They all thought they were sunk with the figs but necessity is the mother of invention. Ariel must be one of those people that loves garlic (if she thought it tasted fine). I know a few. The only thing that tastes better than garlic is more garlic. Nope, the rest of the planet likes a bit more moderation.

Van screwed up with the plastic but his fish was actually cooked so there is limited fault there. Kudos to Dave for soaring through the appetizers (I wonder if they just draw straws to get their station each night).

The men weren't the only ones sorry to see Robert back. Totally tired of that guy. He's laid in the hospital for 2 days but has to head right upstairs to sit a while and have a sandwich. and that rabbit at the end was RAW. Even I could do better. Then he has to act like a total a$$. I see the strategy. Andy was his only hope. But his attack went beyond The Game.

I think that Robert was the 'Lawyer's Eviction'. They probably would have kept the mouth around for drama but the legals were probably concerned about him dieing on them.

Frankly, Ramsey is pi$$ing me off too. How is it that he can tell Tek to get out when she thanks him for the opportunity but, with a douche like Robert, he shakes his hand and gives him a pep talk? Maybe a$$h*les attract.

I'm really glad he's gone. Don't think I'll ever understand why they brought him back to start with. Was just a waste of film (digital or otherwise) for him to be on the screen.

I don't know that I can say I really like any of the girls all that much this time around. They all seem to suck in their own ways. I like 3 of the 4 guys left, with Van being at the bottom of the 3 I like. I can't remember most names either, but his seems to stick in my brain. I guess cause we hear it yelled out so often, specially last night. hehe

I like the guy with the cast and the bald one who screwed up both his ankles. I think the girls need to start going though, I don't see the guy losing once they are down to a team of 3 (Andy needs to go next time the guys lose though.)

I agree about Robert. I would far rather have seen the Asian woman (Name?) who hurt her foot and had to quit brought back. She was great. Great attitude and seemed to know what she was doing.

Pretty sure her name was Gi, or something like that, sounded like the letter G when you said it, if I remember right. And I agree, thats who I would have rather seen too.

Spoilers. Don't scroll down if you don't want to know.

Good show last night but no surprises. I figured either Amanda or Andy (is that his name?) would go depending on who Lost.

Seemed to be some funny answers in the reward challenge. Have to think that they may have prepared them with spices to try and throw people off. Have to admit though that Andy was right. He gets a couple wrong and everyone was all over him. Even Amanda was going on about "How could you not know the tuna????" He did correctly guess one that Ramsey even said was tough and, as he said, nobody did well on their 4 guesses.

Actually found Andy funny last night. Especially when he was talking about having Ramsey and Scott behind each shoulder "God he's slow! He's given up! He sucks!" lmfao

Still wondering is Suzanne is purposely trying to sabotage the other girls. She sure seemed to catch Sabrina by rushing her on the lamb. Unfortunately, that has to be Sabrina's fault. She should have stuck to her guns. head chefs don't send out undercooked food just because someone is rushing them. Suzanne got Amanda with the fish too. (and I think it was a bad rap. I don't recall Amanda saying she would cook it. Seems to me she just said she would put it on for her.) At least Suzanne's actions also got her in crap for once.

Almost forgot. VERY impressed with Dave. I had been giving the edge to Kevin and thought that Dave was a bit laid back but WOW! He is sure quick to jump in where needed! clap

Oh yeah, totally forgot my rant about the lamb. I really had to wonder if it was as undercooked as they said or if it was just another struggling actor looking for something to complain about so he could get on TV. I mean, Ramsey looked at it and sent it out. If it really was that bad then his quality control sucks. If it was my restaurant, I would be swearing at him just as much as Sabrina.

I think the lamb was fine and the guy eating it seemed to think so too, TILL his woman sitting next to him said something about it. Then he says oh yeah your probably right, well if she's so right, why were you already eating it when you called JP over?

I saw something very cool on his BBC show The F Word. He's got groups of 4 people come into the kitchen and cook dinner for 50 people in the restaurant. Well in yesterdays there was a cooking student that he must have taken a liking to, cause he had the guy running the pass and giving him orders. Best line in the show, the guys telling GR that he needs the sauce and to make it speedy and GR goes to the person next to him "Why is he busting on my balls? What did I do?" LOL

It was SOOO every contestant on Hells Kitchen. I also saw that he's supposed to be coming out with a kids show? I can't imagine that with his language issues, but can because of how much he loves his own kids.

DAve is doing well with only one hand to work with. He's not getting a lot of show right now and it may be because he is flying low under the radar. Doesn't get upset, doesn't grandstand, just does his job and stays low. I was thinking Suzanne was trying to sabotage others. Or maybe she just is that easy to shift blame onto someone else.
I think Van could be a great chef in a couple of years. He's a bit uncontrolled right now.

Yep. Rooting for Dave or Ariel right now. Kevin is good but he's sounding a bit cocky for my liking.

Suzanne seemed to actually try to make amends last night but the women still hate her. I'm sure she has given them good reason over the past services but geez, you've got to work with these people.

Hard to believe that they really thought Suzanne would go. Andy was a shoe in with his past appearnces on the block plus his injury (on his good hand, unlike Dave who hurt his weak hand).

Really liking Dave. Looks like he gets hurt again next week. Hoping it's just the editing.

I think they get their meals for free in exchange for being on TV for a few minutes (I believe I read that on another board)...they may even be paid to be on the show...but I'm not 100% sure of that.

I really hope that what you see on the coming attractions for next week is just a tease. I think it would really suck for the strongest person there to have to leave because of an injury after spending so much time cooking hurt as it it.

I'm still on the Dave / Kevin for the f2 train. smile I don't really like any of the girls to much.

Hello - anybody still watching this train wreck. Now down to 4 and I'm still for Kevin and Dave. How about anybody else? I missed last week, to many returning shows, so tonight I recorded it. I'll look tomorrow to see if anybody is still watching... doze

I am still watching it too Barbie! hug I also like Dave & kevin the best but don't know if Dave will be able to go all the way with his bum wrist (even though he's stuck it out this far). I hope Tenille is the next to go...after this past week, Ariel deserves to be in the Final 3. I thought that was a cool challenge & reward to have them judged & be in Bon Appetit magazine! smile

I'd also like to see Dave go all the way. And Tenille drives me crazy and do hope she is the next to go.

Nice seeing you back around Zappy. biglaugh

Still watching, haven't missed any of it. I really like Dave a lot, and want him to win. But I have a bad feeling about next week. frown Kevin is cool, but he was a little to cocky for me this week. Can't stand Tenille, but don't think I've liked anything about her since week 2.

rooting for Dave but I don't know if his injury will make it. Keeping fingers crossed.

Kevin has gotten too cocky. Almost like he figures he has won and is starting to measure drapes for his office. Showed a coniving side when he started trying to get Dave to quit because of his "wrist". Nope. Not rooting for him any more.

Like Ariel but she seems to be on a downward spiral.

Tenille is entertaining when she complains but I don't like her and can't see her winning.

Think, if Dave goes, I'll stop watching. Won't be anyone left to root for.

Whew! Dave hangs on for another week. One more and he won't have to actually cook in the last challenge so his wrist wouldn't hinder him any more.

Was it just me of did Ariel's fiance look a good deal older than her?

Go Dave!

I actually liked Tenille last night...I think I've finally come to appreciate her personality...I thought she was hysterical thanking the kids for the win etc...but it was time for her to go!

I didn't really notice Ariel's fiance...

I'd like a final 2 between Dave & Kevin...and hope in the challenge that really matters, Dave finally becomes the bride (instead of the perpetual bridesmaid)!

Same here. Just hope Dave's wrist can handle the pressure. Kevin is still to cocky and thinks he should win. It was time for Tenille to go, but happy she finally won a challenge!

Kevin is ok, a little cocky but I think most chefs are. However I really want Dave to win, and can't imagine unless he does something really wrong that he wont at least be in final 2. I'd also like to think GR knows if Dave is this good with 1 arm, he would have been unstoppable with two. I think part of why Kevin is seeming cocky is cause he's starting to get scared. I think he expected that Dave would have dropped out by now because of his arm. And when he keeps using it and making himself in more pain but pushing harder to stay, it makes Kevin realize that he's really in trouble.

I noticed that Ariel's guy looked a bit older, but I'm thinking it could be because of how he was dressed and such. He also spoke with a pretty heavy accent, I wonder if they met in France or here in the US?

I'm so happy he won!! I knew he was great, and he just kicked butt with one hand. I can only imagine how many more challenges he would have won with two hands working.

Kevin did well for himself and I think he handled the end well. His team really sucked though, which I wasn't surprised about when I saw who they brought back.

Yay for Dave! Boy, he sure deserved it. clap

I thought Dave outperformed all through the show.

First his picks showed great professionalism and insight. Ariel was a no brainer, Robert was the best of the remaining 4. Then Kevin showed poor judgment in choosing Amanda. I think he let his dislike for Suzanne get in the way. I don't think Dave liked her either but he knew she was better than the other and he gave Suzanne a mental boost by picking her. Great team building.

Then he gave lots of encouragement. Bit of confusion as to how light he told Robert to go on the mushrooms and Robert thinking he was made the scapegoat starts to act out (real mature, soooo glad you didn't win you butthead).

Kevin only seemed to pull it together at the end but I still wasn't sure. His personality seemed more uptight like Ramsey so I thought he might win. Dave, on the other hand, is more laid back and would certainly be a much better fit into British Columbia. A lot of people (myself included) actually wondered if he was a stoner. But now I don't think so. I've known some guys who did pot and Dave is just too focused and driven for me to think he does (much). lol

I wondered that about him soo many times over the season. Especially in his personal interviews. He always had droopy eyes, half glazed over and this kind of "duhh" look on his face. But then he gets into the kitchen and boom it's like a different person takes over.
