I like Top Chef better than Hell's Kitchen. With Top Chef I get to see all the techniques and some of the recipes. I am always so amazed at the skill of these chefs to cook a dish in just a few minutes or come up with something different using a given ingredient. Chopped actually is even more fun as they are given this basket of "secret" ingredients that they have to use-with anything else they need-in the dish. They have to do an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. Its always a protein, fruit and or vegetable and something weird. star fruit, octopus, peanut butter and bitter greens would be an example. They get twenty minutes for the appetizer, thirty for the entree and dessert. But Hell's Kitchen is drama, and it revolves around Ramsey and how he treats the chefs. Its two different shows. I'd love to see more of how the chef's cook their signature dishes or the menus that they cook each week, what goes into them but this is purely drama.

I'm a fan of all 3 that you mentioned Phoenix. But I also watch Gordon on BBC so like I've said in other posts, you do get to see a different side of him. He does use the F word a lot though, but that just seems to be his way. Even when he's joking with friends he's using it. Most of the "people" you see him or other celebrity's talking to on the show use that word a lot.
Hehe example, on Thurs. "F Word" show (yes, F word is the name of the show, it stands for food) he was in the kitchen with a woman who I guess is a comedian from there. She said something and then said "for Jesus sake" then said "oh wait, that might offend people, I better say for F*ck sake". And they both laughed.
He seems like a really good dad though, and I think over any drama he'll play up for tv, thats what's really important. The person he is in real life. But you know, you have to admit most of the people they get on Hells Kitchen act like they come from working in McDonalds and can't even fry a burger to order. So it would be understandable that he gets so mad when they say they know what they are doing.

Spoilers. Don't scroll down if you don't want to know. Pretty good show last night. Have to say that the guys did well making their reward dish. They all thought they were sunk with the figs but necessity is the mother of invention. Ariel must be one of those people that loves garlic (if she thought it tasted fine). I know a few. The only thing that tastes better than garlic is more garlic. Nope, the rest of the planet likes a bit more moderation. Van screwed up with the plastic but his fish was actually cooked so there is limited fault there. Kudos to Dave for soaring through the appetizers (I wonder if they just draw straws to get their station each night). The men weren't the only ones sorry to see Robert back. Totally tired of that guy. He's laid in the hospital for 2 days but has to head right upstairs to sit a while and have a sandwich. and that rabbit at the end was RAW. Even I could do better. Then he has to act like a total a$$. I see the strategy. Andy was his only hope. But his attack went beyond The Game. I think that Robert was the 'Lawyer's Eviction'. They probably would have kept the mouth around for drama but the legals were probably concerned about him dieing on them. Frankly, Ramsey is pi$$ing me off too. How is it that he can tell Tek to get out when she thanks him for the opportunity but, with a douche like Robert, he shakes his hand and gives him a pep talk? Maybe a$$h*les attract.

Spoilers. Don't scroll down if you don't want to know. Good show last night but no surprises. I figured either Amanda or Andy (is that his name?) would go depending on who Lost. Seemed to be some funny answers in the reward challenge. Have to think that they may have prepared them with spices to try and throw people off. Have to admit though that Andy was right. He gets a couple wrong and everyone was all over him. Even Amanda was going on about "How could you not know the tuna????" He did correctly guess one that Ramsey even said was tough and, as he said, nobody did well on their 4 guesses. Actually found Andy funny last night. Especially when he was talking about having Ramsey and Scott behind each shoulder "God he's slow! He's given up! He sucks!" Still wondering is Suzanne is purposely trying to sabotage the other girls. She sure seemed to catch Sabrina by rushing her on the lamb. Unfortunately, that has to be Sabrina's fault. She should have stuck to her guns. head chefs don't send out undercooked food just because someone is rushing them. Suzanne got Amanda with the fish too. (and I think it was a bad rap. I don't recall Amanda saying she would cook it. Seems to me she just said she would put it on for her.) At least Suzanne's actions also got her in crap for once. Almost forgot. VERY impressed with Dave. I had been giving the edge to Kevin and thought that Dave was a bit laid back but WOW! He is sure quick to jump in where needed!
