I use to watch them all the time but then I kept getting repeats and Lost interest. Plus it always hurts my heart to see how some people can mis-treat their animals and think there is nothing wrong with it. Personally if it were my choice, I would enforce stricter punishments on some of the low lifes. Though I hope their karma comes back to haunt them.
I agree about the Miami one but I like the guy who catches the alligators, though that is all I like about it. I liked both NY and TX the most, the people are awesome.
I agree, I wish there were stiffer punishments for these offenders! I keep watching because I love seeing the animals that get rehabilitated go to new homes. They had great follow up special that featured several rescues. And it was NY that got me hooked. The Alligator guy has been on several AP shows before Miami. He caught a rogue monkey on Amazing Animals and there was a special about FL alligators or reptiles and human incroachment in which he figured prominately.
I laughed my booty off watching an episode of AC Miami. The one where a suposedly placid dog savaged an officer's arm twice (same arm). Before each attack, I saw in the dog's eyes that he was going to do it - The Office kept saying "Aw he's just scared" and reached in was savaged and shaken off his feet.
The second attack was hilarious. They had fostered, lovingly reinforced, and worked with the animal for weeks then a trainer brought the dog back on. The trainer said the dog was wonderful, loving, going to make a great pet. The officer, still bandaged, reached out (I saw the eyes, man, I'm telling you, I knew). That dog tore into the same arm and shook him and the cement bench he was sitting on apart. I know I'm sick but, I laughed till I cried. Although the next little blurb said they had to put the dog down. I blamed that idiot officer for both incidents. That dog associated the officer with a bad time and he would never have been okay with that "officer"! He would prob have made a wonderful pet and I wish they hadn't put him down!
All of the Miami officers have looked totally inept ever since then.

Yeah, I saw that episode too. But from what I remember I thought the officer said to not destroy the dog because they figured out what the trigger was that made the dog keep going for him. It was some movement the officer did that the dog saw as a threat. I could have sworn that they let the dog live but it has been a long time since I saw it. Though I would certainly have to say that was probably one of the all time best episodes, just because the guy got bit twice. If they did destroy the dog I would kind of understand, I had a cat a few years ago that like to play rough, one night I was just petting him, I stopped and he rolled over and tore into my arm for no reason. He may have been trying to play with me but we couldn't keep him after that. My child was only a infant and my husband agreed with me that if the cat had done that to her one of us might have killed him (not for reals but we didn't want to see it happen). So we winded up giving him away to a couple with a bunny so we knew he would have something to play with. My point is that sometimes you can only do what you think is best for the animal and with the case of this particular dog, he might have been a danger to little childern so I am sure they didn't want to risk it. Sad as that is. I also like to watch Animal Cops because of the rescues and giving the animals good homes, it is just with ones where you see animals starved or very hurt, makes me bawl like a baby, I feel so bad for them. Call me emotional but I just can't stand to see it. I have two cats now which I got from a community cat care program. My child pick one out for herself and the other one is mine. My daughter had to pick out the most sick, poor little bugger in there. Now he is a lazy fatso. But I believe in treating my pets like they are my babies (or I am their servant, however the other looks at it . I enjoy having them and proud to know that the two of them are happy and healthy. That is something I really respect with Animal Cops too because it is great to see these animals going to homes where they will be loved and happy.

This is to everybody on here: If you see an animal being abused or neglected....DO SOMETHING about it....please. I noticed a dog chained up to a House near where I live about a year ago. I had to pass by this person's House every day going to work and I just watched to see if this dog was getting any attention. What I observed upset me terribly. One day it was pouring down rain when I came home from work and there was the dog out in this rain and storm. Also noticed his doghouse was way too small for him to get into. Never saw anyonoe play with him or feed him although he didn't look undernourished. But he was so lonely that he would get excited when anyone came near but ppl were afraid to touch him so what good was it for him?? I decided to get involved. I typed up a 2 page letter telling this family what I thought about all this. Told them they did not deserve a pet if they were not going to care for it properly and that their dog was being forced to live in Hell on earth out in the extreme elements and with no human contact. BTW, he looked to only be a year or so old with many long years of suffering ahead of him if this continued. Would you believe within a week this dog was GONE!!! Hopefully, he was given to somebody who would be good to him ....as I suggested in my letter. Heck, even going to a shelter would have been better than the sorry life he was living and maybe somebody there adopted him. Anyway, every time I see that House I think about the dog I helped save from a horrible life. I did not sign my name to the letter so I got to really sock it to these uncaring pet owners, but I did not use curse words, name calling, etc. I just socked it to 'em with the facts of how they were mistreating this poor dog. And it worked. So, please, please, don't rely on somebody else to help a dog or cat you see being abused or mistreated. If you don't want to speak up or write a letter....CALL the SPCA and report the offenders and let them handle it for you....you CAN remain totally anonymous, you know. Just DO something. Be that animal's HERO. Linda
