Wow. I think the fact that you've told us you don't like her is coloring your opinion.

I've known Ellen Degeneres since the mid-80's. She is nowhere near what you "strongly suggest".... and as for the surprise... she was surprised at being approached... and everyone was surprised at how quickly this went through.

I usually find you pretty funny. Not so much today.


You know her personally? If so, I'm ready to be educated. My opinion is based on what I've seen and heard and how I have reacted to it. I would love to have better data.

You know for sure she was approached? If so, I take that part back as well.


I appreciate this response. Thank you. She was approached. I know there was hinting and teasing when she interviewed Simon on her show some time ago.. but it wasn't realistic. I do believe it may have given the AI producers the idea. They approached her, not the other way around.

She is a businesswoman. A very successful one. I met her when she was doing comedy clubs.... how often do women in these sorts of roles get labeled as difficult? She is very close to the persona you will see. I'm not sure what you've heard but I'd examine the motive in their having said it.

Yes. I could see them approaching her if they thought she would make good TV.

No denying her success and one Canadian's itty bitty opinion certainly isn't going to hurt her. I will mull it over.

On another note, I read that her show is being sued. Apparently they haven't been paying royalties on the songs that she dances to (or something to that effect).

I had heard about that. I don't know what that is truly about.. If the show didn't try to get rights shame on them. Music rights are SO difficult to secure and SO twisted and tied in legal.

I like Ellen but I really think they made a mistake letting go of Paula. I don't care for Kara at all and I think the chemistry the original three had is what helped make the show what it is.

I have watched less and less since Jordin Sparks won ...I may skip it entirely this time unless someone grabs my attention.

I actually going to stick to my guns, and not watch this year. I have too much on my plate, and I feel the need to move on from it.

I know Paula can be weird, but I really loved her in the 90's. I just can not stand the lack of loyalty to her for some odd reason. For this show only, I am not really a big fan of her, and not interested in her other projects.
