What does everyone think of the new season?

I am very disappointed. The new detective was bad at first and just keeps getting worse. What were they thinking! Her wardrobe is great if she is a stripper (tops cut down to the middle of her chest, push up bras, and spray painted on clothes) How is anyone suppose to take her seriously as a cop? And can someone give her some acting lessons?? She moves like a puppet, stiff, awkward and unnatural to say the least and always looks like she is trying to remember her next line. My nieces production of Sleeping Beauty had better acting and they are 10 years old.

The writing has gone downhill as well. Some of the lines are so corny.

Are they trying to save money or what is the deal?

i don't think it's all that bad. i've returned to the show after being away a couple of season, so maybe that it's somewhat fresh to me is helping. obviously, the formula is tired. and the show is tediously preachy, but i'm still enoying it somewhat now that it's on friday and not up against something else i'm watching. still, i wouldn't miss it if i stopped watching.

as for the actress, i kind of like her and her feistiness.

Part of the allure of L&O is it's predictibility....we all know the corny voice announcing the show....the first scene set up is nearly always the same....and of course we have the "twist"....having said that the episode with Chevy Chase playing a faux Mel Gibson was almost unwatchable...corny...not clever...almost mind numbingly bad...L&O criminal intent is marginally better but Vincent D'Nofrio's (spelling?)mannered performance makes me cringe...Chris Noth is much better...I love L&O Special Victims Unit...it still is interesting with stories I care about...

I read the story line, and didn't watch it! I do like L&O, but this one I decided to skip.

I also like Chris North, he is growing on me!

The thing with Milena Govich is, if it's a close-up of her face, she looks as if she would be tall but thin, like Jill Hennessy, Carey Lowell, or Angie Harmon were, but she's got a body like some Amazon women or a female body-builder, and YES she is definitely bustin' out of her clothes.

At least part of that might be those really high heels they have her wearing. They are very wide like clodhoppers, which may have something to do with it.

L&O - hadn't watched for 3 seasons, checked
back in. New cop OK, nothing special, new
McCoy sidekick barely seems like she's there.
They need to give her an ep where she can show
her stuff. I never cared much for E Rohm and
she was bombing out big-time but that drug store
hostage crisis ep in her first year raised her
profile. Warts and all, though, L&O is clearly
preferable to NUMBERS.

The show I really got back into was Special Victims Unit. I had
tuned this out in early season 5, but I am now
convinced it is one of most underrated shows on
TV. I bought season 5 DVD and although I doubt
this was one of their better seasons, it was worth
the price. I have 14/25 eps worthy of continued
viewing. Gained appreciation for Ice-T and Diane
Neal. Back into the reruns now, too.

I happen to be a big fan of "Law & Order," though ironically, I didn't get into watchting the show until after I had seen the repeats on TNT, but there was something that hooked me on this show, unlike "CSI" and its ilk.

I do like the new assistant D.A. over Annie Parisse, though that season finale episode where Annie's character was killed was pretty haunting and stayed with me for a while. I really like Sam Waterston and Jessie Martin, so as long as they're on the show, I'll be happy. "Special Victims Unit" still is excellent as well, and I'm really liking Chris Noth and his new partner plus Eric Bogosian (sp?)on "Criminal Intent."

Like what's been said, this is kind of a comfort show amidst all the "high concept" shows out there. Outside of "Heroes," "Studio 60," and "Friday Night Lights" (and I'm not a football fan), most of those fall flat with me. On the other hand, so many of the ones on CBS, while I may watch them in repeats occasionally, don't interest me that much in general either. I don't know, it's not like they're exactly the same, but they do seem to be going towards the same formula that "CSI" does. And "CSI" can trace its roots back to "Law & Order."

Sorry, but that ep was craptacular. No offense, but if I want to hear that much [censored] preaching, I'll take my kiester to church(and that's not bloody likely to ever happen).

Dickhead Wolf and his nest of exploitive writers need to keep their retarded, insipid little opinions to themselves. Shame on them for exploiting the ordeal that victims of rape and incest face.

I've officially written off this waste of airtime.
