Finally, Big Easy realizes it's the time on the watch that's the combo. He finishes RB.
Brian wants to switch to the hookas, but Ericka does not.
Meanwhile, Meghan & Cheyne don't pass their review of the hookas the first time.
And Brian/Ericka don't get it right the first time either.
Gary/Matt opt for glass.
M/C have leftover pieces on the side, and that's why they aren't finishing.
Brian and Ericka don't either, so they switch tasks.
Finally, M/C finish detour. Off to the Atlantis Dubai resort. Down a waterslide into a shark tank!
Sam/Dan do gold.
M/T do gold.
B/E don't pass their first go-round on Glass.
Mika/Canaan do Glass.
Ericka is being very bossy but not doing much herself.
At Gold, the two teams just about had it when the number changed. Oy.
This time, both teams get it. S/D and M/T off to ATlantis.
At the slide, Meghan and Cheyne are both afraid of heights. And sharks. But they do it quickly. Off to Dolphin Bay beach pit stop.
Meghan/Cheyne team #1. He drags her in the ocean. And they each win a personal watercraft.
At glass, Ericka wants to cry.
The Globes show up, and that seems to piss her off even more.
B/E still don't have it right.

The 2 questions they should ask when you apply for the show is... 1) Can you swim?? 2) Are you afraid of heights? If you can't do any of them then you shouldn't be on the show......yes it made for good drama....but it was painful to watch her cry like a baby for such a simple task......and I am pretty sure I would have done the same thing as the Globes if faced with potential elimination....... It was painful to watch her cry like that and I felt sorry for him because her fear caused them to potentially lose that money....... If I were him....I would have run right up behind her when she was sitting at the top of the slide and pushed her down....and immediately followed...........that was his once chance to get her to go.....I would rather live with the anger from her for doing something like that than living with the fact we Lost the chance of $1 million for not doing it........it's something that you would think about in your head over and over......... Why go on the show??

I agree Fran.
I don't have a fear of heights. I do, however, have some medical issues. I mentioned the vertigo, which would prevent me from doing something like a bungee jump, a freefall or a zip line at a steep angle of descent. I also have severe stomach issues which prevent me from eating most foods. So that would let out any weird food tasks. My fear would not be the task itself...in my case the fear comes from knowing I could be stuck with such a task and not be able to complete it.
To me, that waterslide looked like so much fun...and I know if I'd have attempted it, it's very likely my stomach would be turning for at least a day if not longer. How do you run a race when you can't stand up straight? And even worse, I HATE being sick so much that I just might consider passing up a million dollars if winning it meant doing a task that would have me curled up in the fetal position for days on end.
I know my health issues don't exactly compare to fear...but I do understand how paralyzed someone can feel when their fear is staring them in the face. Last night, half of me wanted to hug Mika and tell her everything would be okay, while at the same time I wanted to lecture her that she should've known better than to try the race if she was that afraid of heights AND water, because she had to know she'd encounter both on the race.

Flight time yells to Big Easy to "do it for the hood." Sam yells to Dan to "do it for the suburbs!"
that was funny Loved that!!! Probably one of the best off the cuff lines I've ever heard on a reality show. The teams this season are really funny and fun to watch. Glad to see Zev & Justin finally got to the Elimination Station. (posted in another thread) I don't think I could be so forgiving if I were Canaan. And to be at the top of that slide for 45 minutes?!?! (as heard in the elimination station video) Then to give Big Easy lip for telling Mika not to slide. Thats just crazy, it's not like she was going to do it anyways, and if she was, she could have gone after Canaan and not just walked away. It could have possibly been a non elimination leg. Everyone has a fear of something, but like most of you have said, it's not like this wasn't something to be expected when running the race. Unless she had never heard of the Amazing Race before (in which case, why did she sign up?) all contestants know the "challenges" are there to test and challenge you.

Mika was afraid of water. That's a little different since she was going into a pool. Personally, had Canannon not grabbed her and seemed like he was going to push her, she might have been able to do it. After he did that, she couldn't trust him. I don't really blame her for that.
I do blame her for knowing ahead of time she had these paralyzing fears and going on the race with in no way prepared to deal with them. She's very young, and that showed. ITA. I also agree with someone who said that if you are terrified with heights, wait, no. Not terrified, absolutely gripped with a "phobia like fear" of heights or water, you shouldn't go on the show. I have BOTH of those. Its one thing to be afraid of water and go in a pool. Its one thing to be afraid of heights and jump down 20, 30 feet. But to have paralyzing phobia of either one and to have to go down a SIX STORY STEEP drop into shark filled water, it is too much. The only way to conquer those fears are to face them. But when they are that embedded, you simply can NOT go from 0 to 100 just like *that*. I also am claustrophobic. That slight bit of tunnel at the end, with water all around you, no matter how quick it is, if I had known it was there, would have been overwhelming. ....... (Yeah, I am consumed with phobias! LOL!!!) Which is exactly why she, (and I) should never have gone on the show with that tremendous a fear. I feel for her, , but she should have known better. I do think its wonderful though, no matter how upset with her he was, that he said "Forgiveness is freeing." and that it would be something he would let go of and still love her... no matter the 'potential' financial loss. THAT, my friend, is love.
