When Mya did nothing for the first 20 seconds of the dance I knew Len would rip her for it. It was a pretty long gimmick.

It's pretty clear by the costumes who's doing the waltz and who's doing the jitterbug.

There's also a competition mambo marathon, where they'll be knocked out one by one until only one couple is left.

Mya and Dmitry start the evening with their jitterbug.

The jitterbug allows for lifts.

And Mya is hurting. Off to massage therapy.

Everything looks effortless for Mya..she's too good too fast, and that bugs me, because I can never see improvement from her. Again, this is really good. But it looks just like her other fun dances.

L: You're such a good dancer that you don't need gimmicks and props.

B: What you did stylistically bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb (sorry, cat walked on the laptop.)

CA: I'm going to disagree with Bruno. You could've gone wild and crazy, but you were somewhat tame.

Scores: 8-7-9

And after watching that dance, I know what Len did with Dmitry's broom... innocent

Melissa and Mark have the first waltz of the evening.

Melissa's posture is off, so Mark brings his mom in to help.

I think she looks great, until you look at her face and see the fear in her eyes. She seems less nervous by mid-dance.

B: That wasn't good for week 6. It looked like you were trying to remember what you were told to do.

CA: At least you kept your puppies up. It felt sticky, not fluid.

L: It had musicality, I thought you looked elegant...there were some problems with the technique, but I think their critiques were a little bit harsh.

Scores: 7-7-6. Geesh Bruno, it wasn't that bad!

Mark and Lacey have their jitterbug next.

Lacey is having Mark do all the tricks. And she tries to get him to loosen up.

So she dresses him up and takes him to a jitterbug club.

BTW, did you know that the jitterbug is not a dance, it's an attitude? Me either.

Mark is cute, but he makes some goofy faces.

The dance is loaded with tricks...and I'm liking it...but I'm not sure if Len will find it too gimmicky.

It was fun and high energy anyway.

CA: WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I. LOVED IT!!!!

L: Sometimes less is more, but not in the jitterbug! Absolutely full on...great!

B: Truly spectacular! But you did lose the timing at the end.

Scores: 9-9-8. Yup, Bruno borrowed Len's broom.

Aaron and Karina have a waltz.

Aaron comes in a suit and brings Karina roses to get into the character of the dance.

And they'll dance when we come back.

Mark's martial arts background allows him to do some nice moves. He began as one of my faves and continues to be.

Aaron and Karina waltz.

Three times a lady. Ugh.

She's dancing circles around him. He looks constipated.

He's so rigid I think he borrowed Dmitry's broom.

And her singing to the music is annoying. I love her dress though.

It was good technically...but I just didn't feel it.

L: You danced with maturity, you had lovely posture, you had a great connection...you best dance.

B: They boy has become a gentleman. but you missed your footing a couple of times.

CA: It was beautiful..but you missed it a little in the beginning.

Scores: 8-9-8.

Michael and Anna have a waltz. And he's frustrated by it.

Dancing to Curits Stiger's "I wonder why"

This waltz isn't as technically good as some of the others tonight, but the joy on his face gives it a warmth that others didn't have. I'm enjoying it, faults and all, because he seems to be having fun.

But it's not 10 material, that's for sure.

B: This was a waltz, and you looked like you enjoyed yourself, but it wasn't a proper waltz. Your posture wasn't as good as it should be.

CA: Did your feet come off the ground? That waltz was so charming...but you had a lift and a stumble.

L: It's amazing that 3 people can watch a dance and two of them get it totally wrong. You had the best footwork of any waltz tonight, your posture was good...it was really really good!

Michael gets a standing O backstage from the guys.

Scores: 6-8-6. I'm not sure I agree with the 8, but I don't agree with the 6s. Straight 7s looked right to me.

Kelly and Louis jitterbug for us.

To overcome her fears, Louis takes her to trapeze school. She freaks out...and does it.

She's cute...but sometimes she looks like she's having fun, and in the next moment she looks like she scared sh!tless.

Her kicks aren't very high..nice flip in there...

Good, but not great.

CA: You got your sense of fun back, but when you prepare for the worst, sometimes you bring it with you. Stay in the happy place.

L: I know you were trying to protect your sprained ankle, but it was a bit flat footed at times.

B: It was cute, it was nice...but you have to ignite the performance. Sell it, become the character.

Samantha thinks Len's happy pills wore off.

Scores: 7-6-7. I don't think the 6 was accurate.

Double elimination works this way:

Couple with the lowest combined score goes home. then the next two lowest scoring couples do the dance off, and the couple that receives the lowest judges score goes home.

Oy.

Louie and Chelsie have a jitterbug.

She wants to apply some of his snowboarding skills to dancing.

His feet look good tonight! Nice use of tricks.

Amazing backflip!

I think he looks really good tonight...this is a hectic dance, and he can do hectic.

L: Parts of that were fantastic. I love your enthusiasm...but there were some bits where you lose your energy.

B: You went all whacko, which suits this dance, but you lose the precision.

CA: I loved this dance. You brought the energy. But you dropped your partner twice, and that's not acceptable!

Scores: 7-7-7.

Joanna and Derek are up with a waltz.

Joanna's struggling with maintaining the frame.

Nice costume.

Looks elegant. But she doesn't thrill me.

B: it was like watching a butterfly gliding across an alpine meadow.

CA: Your lines were beautiful, but it was like you hesitated a lot.

L: Your footwork wasn't too brilliant, but I loved that you went straight into the dance and your posture was great. Best waltz we've had tonight.

Scores: in exactly 60 seconds. so I'll wait.

Scores: 8-9-9.

Donny and Kym have the last jitterbug of the night.

Donny's getting beaten up by the lifts and tricks in the jitterbug.

Donny & Kym take time out to teach dancing to a group of disabled people. And everyone looks like they're having so much fun.

They come out strong, very high energy.

This is right up Donny's alley. But I have to say, the costumes are the ugliest thing I've seen tonight.

That was so much fun!

CA: You guys know how to work a room! But you have some weird little nicks, and you had a few moments being out of sync.

L: There was a little stumble, but really entertaining.

B: It was a little like a steam engine trying to keep up with a bullet train, but always entertaining.

Scores: 8-8-8. Sounds about right.

And when Donny realizes they still have the mambo, the fear comes into his face.

Competition Mambo. First one out gets two points, last one standing gets 10.

Karina's wearing the Big Bird costume.

First couple out: Michael & Anna. 2 pts.

Louie & Chelsie next. 3 pts.

Melissa & Mark: 4 pts.

Kelly & Louis: 5 pts

Mark & Lacey: 6 pts.

Donny & Kym: 7 pts. Gypped!

Aaron & Karina: 8 pts.

Mya & Dmitry: 9 pts.

Joanna & Derek: 10 pts. I didn't think Joanna was that good. She'd be toast without Derek.

The judges each need three sets of eyes to judge the marathon. If nothing else, the marathon makes it more likely the best dancers will escape being surprise members of the bottom two.

Please tell me if anyone else is having this problem. I vote on my phone just fine. But when I go online, I am logged in, I even re-log in if necessary. I "immediately" vote, and it says...

"We tried to wait for you, but need you to log back on to finish making your picks. Thanks!"

So, I try again by re-logging in. No matter what I do, I can't cast a single vote online! This happened last week too. But in all the weeks prior, I never had any problem. And it does say I am logged in. Damn! gripe

They sometimes have those 'issues' right after the show. I usually wait until now (the next morning) to cast my votes online. I didn't have any problems this morning.

I thought the judges had their decision for the mambo made before the dance (even if they looked like they were arguing/deliberating). I knew that Michael would be out first...the only surprise was that Donny was out before he should have been...

I wonder who will be out tonight...as long as Aaron is not the lowest vote getter, he should stick around in the dance-off. Based on quality of dancing, I think that Michael and either Melissa or Louie should go...

What do y'all think? wink

I think this is the most lackluster edition of the show yet. I can't find anyone to actually pull for. Maya, I suppose. But I just can't really muster up any enthusiasm for any of them.

I agree. I was rooting for Mya for a while, but IDK, kinda Lost interest after a while. I really like Iron Chef Mark a lot, but doubt he'll win. I'm expecting Donny to nab an easy win this season.

If Donny won, I would be absolutely THRILLED! But, I don't see that happening. I think it will probably go to Mark, which would be all right, or it will go to Maya who is good, but for some reason just bores me.

Sadly, I think Joanna will win. I can't stand her after watching her on the Superstars this past summer. Anyone who can make Terrell Owens look humble is not much of a human being.

I'd love for Donny to win. I don't think the judges will let Mya win...they'll underscore her to make sure she doesn't. They generally don't like contestants who come in with a strong dance background.

I like Mark a lot, but I just don't think he's on Donny's level as far as performances go.

There's nobody else I really want to win. But I'd be thrilled if Donny won and Kym finally got her first win.

Terrell Owens is an NFL player, now with the Buffalo Bills. He's one of the most obnoxious, arrogant people in all of sports. And Joanna made him look like a saint.

Yeah, her tirade was on YouTube. I'm sure you can find it.

I asked my sports loving friend about Terrell. He agreed he is an arrogant ass. LOL. Gonna look him up. Thanks!

I'll also never support any celeb (if I am AWARE of it!!) who supports Michael Vick. That kind of cruelty.... mad1

Terrell Owens, or as a writer named Skip Bayless calls him, Team Obliterator is the worst kind of athlete around...me, me, me. Obnoxious jerk. He was Joanna's partner on Superstars, he's suppose to be the greatest. The Lost week one cause he was so bad. She rightfully called him out on his lack of teamwork and sportsmanship. The came back the next week cause someone got hurt, she bitched at TO the whole time, but honestly, anyone would that had to put up with that jerk. The made it through their tasks ranked 2nd, and then he quit. He's worse than a diva.

On DWTS we've seen none of that attitude, so I'm chalking it up to frustration in dealing with a self-centered, egotistical ass.

In the marathon I had a difficult time telling who was good and who wasn't. I've read a lot of comments about Joanna not deserving the win so I have to assume there is something to it. I did notice she and Derek were doing the arm twirl move repeatedly. I expect Donny will win because he can dance pretty well and has big fan support. I am also rooting for Mark. Last season, with Gilles, Shawn, Melissa, and Lil' Kim, was better.

I can't stand TO, but he barely yapped during that show. She was mouthing off the whole time.

I heard a rumour that Maks was supposed to be paired with her this season, but after dealing with her in the Superstars he said he wouldn't do this season of DWTS if he was partnered with her. I don't know how true that is or not, but if it is true, for Maks to refuse to partner with her says an awful lot about her personality.

Since we've seen no attitude from Joanna and Maks came in to help her with no problem last week, it's my opinion that Terrel Owens would make Mother Teresa give attitude. He yapped plenty at the other people while failing when his turn came up...specifically that water jump thing they did. Joanna been very nice and pleasant all season on DWTS.
