Darn--missed the 1st 45 min. But I WAS watching "The Great Pumpkin", so... clap

So since I'm sorta out of the loop, what's the deal w/ Brandon coming in midweek?

Also, watching Sonya during her choreography rehearsal, I thought "she's dressed just like Mia in a rehearsal". So is she the "new" Mia? I know they don't do the exact same style, but I do see some similarities.

Ok, so just finished watching the 2 hour show and I have to just say that the judges really annoyed me. Not going to give details in case others haven't seen it yet, but I suppose it all worked out in the end.

So I have a question for those of you who are much more knowledgeable then I am. Who actually makes the "rules" for this type of program? I mean we've seen the judges and even the host on other reality shows and competition shows "change the rules" as they saw fit. So what is the deal with So You Think You Can Dance? I mean didn't they change the rules last season when they gave the 17 year old a ticket for this seasons show? I guess I wouldn't even have the question or care if it wasn't for the situation ending the way it did, or even happening the way it did.

But in the end, I don't think the guy who got sent home should have. There were a couple other guys I thought did worse then he did. I also did not understand the other guy pick AT ALL. Just going to leave it at that for now.

There is a lot of potential within the season.

I think the power couple was Ryan and Eleanore... something very cool about her especially. He may be a little TOO machismo for me.

I really liked the Victor and Bianca dance... Travis Wall is really very good.

Thought the disco kids (Nathan and Mollee) were really ALIVE. Very good footwork and so much energy.

Legacy and Katherine were spot on with the routine. I know Legacy will get his ass kicked in some genres but really proved himself in this one.

Jakob is outstanding. Ashleigh is very lucky to be coupled with him.... but she looked very good in her own right.

Karen and Kevin were good... but I barely watched him. I don't like his look... it's sort of odd. SHE is amazing.

Peter and Arianna were mediocre for me... I loved the song they danced to and I really would like to see him go further. I wasn't that surprised to see her in the bottom and gone at the end of the night.

I, personally, thought Russell was elegant. I find him one of the most intriguing dancers and personalities of the season thus far.

Brandon and Pauline were cute but out of the league of the others. Even the choice of music made it feel like a prom dance. I was sad for Brandon but felt it was fair and loved that he could be invited back next summer.

My least favorite dance of the night, however, was Phillip and Channing. I like her. I just don't like him. He can go anytime. I think she has more potential.

I don't know that Noelle should be allowed to continue. I almost feel that it wasn't fair for her to have not been eliminated tonight... someone else had to go and she gets another chance? She should have been asked to come back next season as well... and then they could have just danced 9 couples and not eliminated anyone.

I think it is a damn shame that Billy Bell is out. I was really looking forward to watching him. I was amazed by his talent... I hope he is able to come back and dance in the next season as well.

Thoughts?

Producers will make the rules... break the rules or bend the rules.... but that is their call. I wouldn't take it too seriously. All of this stuff is subjective... especially when we have favorites that we feel are not getting their fair share.

Personally I don't think they should have brought back Brandon at all. I don't think they should allow Noelle to stay if she is injured. they could have danced the other 9 couples without an elimination at all.

But they did bring back Brandon. I actually thought he was by far the weakest of the guys tonight. I was not surprised by that at all.

As for Russell? I think that was a classic ploy. To put a less popular person in the bottom and have them stay would be to possibly doom them. . To put Russell, an obvious early favorite down there with someone that they probably knew was going to go (Brandon) they were only strengthening his fanbase. He'll be fine.

See, I kind of had the thought that instead of bringing back another guy, the could have done with Pauline what they did with Russell if they wanted them to both dance. Then at the end of the night either send no one home, or just send a girl home. However you are probably right in that they should have made Noelle go home and only had 9 couples dance without elimination. That would have been a good show, and I think it would have only made next week that much better.

You are probably right about tonight helping Russell gain more fans, he's really just so unique. You see him do a solo and you never expect that he can turn around and do ballroom. He just killed everything they threw at them in Vegas, and I thought it was awesome that no one saw it coming. I really hope he stays around for a long time. I'd like to see him do more styles and I wouldn't even mind him being in the bottom a couple times (so long as he is safe at the end of the night) so we can see more of his Krumping.

I was sorry to read about Billy Bell leaving, and more sorry to hear it was because of health reasons. I hope he's going to be ok, it must be something pretty serious if he shouldn't be dancing at all, cause they didn't say injury. I hope a lot of exceptions can be made and we see him next time.

Loved the Ryan & Eleanore dance along with the Victor & Bianca dance....and the disco routine was a lot of fun........the Legacy routine was cool......Jakob was totally awesome......would have loved to see a Billy/Jakob smackdown........Ashliegh will be riding his coatails.....

Very shocked Russell was in the bottom 4......I think it's terrible they did that to him......and he danced well.....the right people went home though..... grin
