Normally a show that I wouldn't watch but since its the summer I will be. Also its got great buzz. Every review I have seen has been positive saying its funny. It premieres this wednesday at 8/7c.

the following week at 9/8c The Inside(The best show of the summer) will premiere on FOX. Not a reality show but just wanted to say.

I can't either but he won't be on it. I wasn't going to watch until I read some of the reviews.

I've seen a few episodes of "Beauty and the Geek" and there's no Ashton Kutcher except for a brief explanation of the show. There are some funny moments. Casting certainly found the dumbest girls and the geekiest guys on the planet.

As for "The Inside," I haven't seen it yet, Buff, but our writers have, and they liked it. They also said it's the darkest show they have ever seen, and they are surprised FOX is airing it. One of them called it "Se7en" the TV show.

Watched it last night and it was actually quite cute. When I heard the premise I thought it would be painful to watch but the producers have done a good job not to make it mean spirited or nasty. Its a fun show for the summer and you can learn things like, " ..in 1942 Columbus sailed the ocean blue"

When I was a kid, somewhere I saw a show where they did a joke about that, and the kid couldn't remember if it was "in 1492, Columnbus sailed the ocean blue" or "In 1493, Columbus sailed the great blue sea" and I've had trouble with that one ever since

But I was sorry about the pair who went home last night -- the girl who survived managed to plunge to the bottom of my "like" list in one easy episode.

You mean the girl who was paired up with Joe, the redhead guy? I know what you mean. Seemed like the sweetest, most sincere, least superficial one then BOOM...heads for that other guy Brad.

I watched this as well and was pleased. They found some sweet people - at least for now - for the show and it wasn't hurtful.

I liked the show and found that most of the guys are cute and nice, not to mention smart! The only guy I can't stand is Richard, who's the biggest geek of them all! As for the women, I can't really stand any of them. Maybe Caitlin is okay. But Erika's hooking up with Brad didn't sit well with me, Lauren's just plain annoying, the NBA dancer isn't as pretty as she thinks she is...

I'd like to see a second season of this show with the roles reversed: gorgeous dumb men and average brilliant women. I'd apply if I wasn't too old...

I thought this show was pretty cute...looking forward to watching it again this week. The boys were mostly very sweet with their geekiness and I was entertained watching them try to teach the girls and vice versa I will get tired of the hyperactive one pretty quickly though...

anyone still watching? I FINALLY managed to watch it last night...and really liked it. They took all the things I liked about Average Joe and made it better. I like that it's a "social experiment" so none of them are supposed to hook up by the end of the show...even though I think that someone might. I like that it's opening up the "beauties" eyes to the fact that looks aren't everything...(even though I don't think any of them ~except Richard ~ are that bad looking)!

I'm not sure if this would work...most of the time you see a beautiful woman with a geeky guy...rarely do you see a gorgeous guy with a plain jane woman (prove me wrong, guys)!

Lurk,

You are correct. However, there are generally three exceptions.

1) The girl has breasts the size of the Rockies.
2) The girl can crack walnuts with her thighs.
3) The girl can suck a watermelon through a garden hose.

I like the show a lot, although all my favourite guys are getting eliminated!

I think Chuck, Brad, Joe and Eric were all really nice looking! Shawn and Bill just need a little polish. Richard...he looks just like ScrabbleBoy, the last guy I dated. Same stereotypical Jewish tendencies too...he's the kind of "good Jewish boy" my dad always wants for me. (Times like that I'm very thankful that it's my dad who's Jewish and not my mother...oy!)

The women, however, annoy me. Just when one of them starts to show redeeming qualities, she makes another shallow comment. I don't think any of the women are as pretty as they think they are. Some have great hair, but big noses. Or a nice figure but their eyes are off. None of them are total stunning beauties.

Of all the women, so far I think that Scarlett is the least arrogant and most well-rounded. Lauren is the stereotypical dumb blonde. Krystal was too arrogant. Caitilin runs hot and cold. Mindi...well, I give her bonus points since she is paired up with Richard!

I just hope Richard doesn't win...I can put up with him being a geek, but not an annoying geek!

Really - Richard was your ScrabbleBoy twin? Oh my! Sometimes he can be funny, but other times....

I loved at the end of last week's ep, when he kissed Krystal, his tag line changed from Never Kissed a Girl to Has Kissed 1 Girl.

Scarlet does seem the nicest of the girls. The one who left last week, the Barbie model, seemed really nice also.

It is SOOOOOOOOO obvious that they are building to a Chuck/Caitilin vs. Richard/Mindy finale. If we want to talk about rigged reality shows...at least with some of the other allegedly rigged ones there's the attempt to make it appear that it isn't rigged by giving the audience a "say"...with Beauty and the Geek, on the other hand, it is so blatantly obvious. Then again, I could be totally wrong. This is an Ashton Kutcher production after all so hell, maybe this could all be a new variation on Punk'd. It does have a kind of a Punk'd mixed with The Joe Schmo Show feel.

I mean, not that I am complaining, but...

I was bummed to see the Dukes of Hazzard guy go last night! Richard has worn out his welcome in my book...though I admit I laughed when he tried to pick up the married woman. The makeovers were a lot of fun. I thought it was a tie as to who looked best between the Duke and the Boyscout (can't remember names). Richard didn't look different at all.

I thought the same thing Alexa...but I liked Bill (Dukes) and Chuck the best. Shawn {Boyscout} looked OK but didn't gain the confidence from the makeover like the other 2 did. I also didn't think Richard looked any different...he's just really annoying!!!

I've been able to find redeeming qualities in everyone but Richard. The other guys were all decent looking before the makeover and turned out really nice looking after. But the other guys also all have nice personalities...which Richard doesn't. He blames everyone else for his lack of social skills...especially Chuck. Chuck's a nice, smart guy...a little boring, maybe, but nice and smart. Richard not only comes across as fake, but he doesn't come across as very smart either. He was no help at the car challenge or the rocket challenge, he didn't pick up the massage or shopping very well...do people think because he's so geeky that he's automatically smart?

I don't like Richard buut get the feeling that he was so badly hurt and tormented as a child that he turned into a clown. Better to be laughed with than at. He has been given every opportunity to open up and expose himself and can't All the others have and are much the better for it. Poor richard will always be a stereotypical geek. It is probably too late to change. Sad.

I have been tired of Richard since the second episode. He is obviously there till the end because Scarlett/Forgot his name have been editted way too UTR for them to make it to the final. I like everybody and I am going to miss Lauren because though self absorbed she has a sandra bullock type goofy that I like.

PS Bryan Mcfayden you suck!

PPS Bryan Mcfayden your shirt was too tight. I know your jealous of all the attention the geeks get but wow dude buy something that fits. You Work Out we get it! Your still annoying. Richard size annoying

Buff,

You were quite the little bitchy person last night, huh? Who pissed in your Cheerios?

I know that I'm going to be flamed here, but I was glad that Richard and Mindy stayed this week. Yes, I too can't stand Richard, but could you imagine how boring the show would have been without him?? It would have just been one Big Love-fest among the three remaining teams. I also like the fact that he bugs the crap out of Chuck, who I don't like either because he holds himself in such high regard.

Yeah. Chuck's annoying too. But it seems every guy/girl I start to like goes home, and the hugely annoying Richard still gets to stay around. He's very lucky he has Mindy -- she's way smarter than he is, I think.

And I agree with Buff -- Lauren was a complete ditz, but there was something very appealing about how good natured she was. And that make-over of Bill was the absolute best. His new hair was brilliant.

Though did you notice -- every one of the guys dumped their new clothing the next day.

I would love if we get a geek/beauty reunion at the beginning of next season. I'm curious if anything about this experience will stick! Also, I wonder what Richard is like off camera...think he's less spastic?

My guess is no. I dated a Richard...and there were no cameras around, but he was just as spastic and also neurotic. He blamed it on his Orthodox Jewish upbringing. I blamed it on his mother babying him too much.

Also, I wonder what Richard is like off camera...think he's less spastic?

Alexa that's a great point. The whole time I've been watching this show I can't help wondering if what Richard does is exxagerrated to a point.

My guess is no. I dated a Richard...and there were no cameras around, but he was just as spastic and also neurotic. He blamed it on his Orthodox Jewish upbringing. I blamed it on his mother babying him too much.

Man, wouldn't it be great to bring the parents on the show?? I would love to see how they differ between the beauties and the geeks!

Last night was the first time I saw it....well, came in when they were on the steps waiting to see which two couples were to go (maybe). The guy with his tie (?) over his eyes and the psuedo cigarette....what a dork!!! I'm sorry, but he just is

The girl he was with was very smart. The other girl, I had to laugh when she continued to count on her fingers. I know I'm not the math genius, but I did better then her. She seemed like she was trying too hard to be cutesy which annoyed me.

Okay, tell me the exact premise and what do they win?

The premise (and what they say at the beginning of the show) is that it is a social experiment (which makes it better than Average Joe to me...b/c they are not expected to be romantically involved). The geeks are helping the beauties with their book learning. The beauties are helping the geeks socially. I've only watched 2 weeks of it, but I like it.

The winning team gets $250,000 (I think to split, not each)...

that's cool...I always like to know what happens after!

I watched part of REgis & Kelly yesterday...Richard was on (I guess they are milking his celebrity for all it's worth). His mom was in the audience too. Regis asked him if it was just an act (said he reminded him of a young Jerry Lewis)...his mom answered for him that no, he has always been like this!

Maybe I'm one of the few Richard fans, but I always root for the underdog. Go Richard! There needed to be more personality in the other geeks they brought on. That's my only complaint.

His mom answered for him? Well, enough said right there. As far as the need for more personality in the geeks, that would defeat the purpose of the show, kind of. Part of the idea is to get the geeks to break out of their shell. You start out with a bunch of guys that have more or less already done so (like Richard), it would be interesting perhaps but defeat the purpose of the show.

I wouldn't say Richard has broken out of his shell...he just has a different shell from the other guys. Unlike the other "geeks," Richard has absolutely no common sense or sense of pride in himself. Did you notice that although none of the other guys were sharp dressers before the makeover, only Richard wore his pants hiked up to his nipples instead of around his waist?

Yes, she answered for him, but in Richard's defense (probably the only time I'll defend him) he did tell Regis to ask his mother! Maybe he was just being a good son and helping to get his mother to appear on national TV!

Maybe you're right, but still, you gotta keep it interesting for the viewers. I'll keep watching and rooting for Richard. Can't deny the soft spot in my heart for hopeless geeks. I'm half geek myself, my dad is an engineer whom my friends have described as Sonny Bono with glasses. Much love to my mom who helped out in the looks dept w/ me and my sis.

What happened last night? Shawn the boyscout totally blew the camping challenge! and, as predicted, it is a Chuck vs. Richard finale I'm hoping that Chuck wins...even though I didn't like him diagnosing/psycho-analyzing Richard! Mindi has been incredible - she's gotten EVERY question correct during the "elimination round"

I'm glad they will do a re-cap...would like to find out what they learned from doing the show, see if anything carried over after the show and see if Scarlett gave Chuck the time of day after the cameras stopped rolling!

I hate Chuck too but there is way more hate coming my way towards Richard. So I am rooting for the lesser of two evils. Go Chuck. We need Joe and Erika back! That is a geek you could cheer for.

Totally predictable. Richard vs. Chuck for the finale. Also not breaking tradition was Scarlet. They seem to develop some redeeming qualities, Scarlet in fact was becoming the most likable, sensitive and sincere girl on the show and as per tradition with these girls, turned it all around in one episode. Maybe Chuck is rubbing off on her (in more ways than one). Ironically Caitilin, who was becoming the least likable to me, stuck up for Richard, which was a nice sentiment if not necessarily a deserving guy for whom to do so.

Yup, I'm pulling for Chuck too...because Richard is an insufferable little twerp! And Mindi's almost coming across as though she's a genius, the way she's going through those elimination rounds! She'll easily beat Caitilin in the elimination round...I'm just hoping that Chuck can beat the snot out of Richard!

And I look forward to the reunion show too! Can't wait to see what some of the early-eliminated teams have been up to!

Uh, OK, well if his mom answered for him because he specifically deferred to her, then that's fine. But nobody said that originally, and I didn't see the show. See, I can roll my eyes too.

I wasn't rolling my eyes because you asked the question (or at you)...I was rolling my eyes that Richard asked his mommy (still thinking he wanted to get her on TV)...

Oh man...I can't believe I'm actually rooting for Richard and Mindi to take it all... I can't stand Chuck at this point and his superiority complex! Where did all the nice geeks go?? Any chance the The Game can change to boys vs. girls somehow in the end??

These guys are my least favorite of all of the "geeks" -- interesting that what got them there were two very smart girls. Mindy's so much smarter than Richard -- if they win, the whole lot of the money should go to her, since she earned it.

The $250K might not matter to Richard at this point anyway, seeing as how he'll surely get some type of TV deal based on being annoying on this show...hosting, brief sitcom guest star career, acting, whatever.

P.S. did I see part of a promo during the show last night indicating they'd be running a marathon of the entire series some Sunday night or something? When did they say that would be?

Anyone see the finale? I was hoping that Richard and Mindi's comeback would win out, but nope...Chuck (or Upchuck as ragincajun called him...love that!) and Caitilin won out... But Richard really redeemed himself a bit with the kayaking and piano, so he at least got to end on a pretty good note, besides freaking out about the final round

can't wait for the reunion!

While Upchuck won, Richard will still get more mileage out of this show. Did anyone catch this week's episode of Punk'd? Richard was on it and was helping Ashton pull a prank of a basketball player. I think that CBS ought to hire him to help promote their Friday night line-up. They could call it "Geek Night" because it is a geek's dream schedule with The Ghost Whisperer (two hot chicks doing goth stuff), Threshold (a sci-fi show with Data from Star Trek), and Numbers (a guy who loves math).

I couldn't be bothered watching the finale. I disliked both of them so much -- all the nice ones were gone.

But curious how this became about the guys, and not the girls. No one seemed to care what girls were in the finale, only that it was Richard and Chuck. I wonder why?

Because both Catilin and Mindy have basically the same personality that really doesn't bother anyone . In the end, it came down to whether you could tolerate Richard's antics or Upchuck's arrogance.

Maybe it's because of my own experience with a Richard look-alike, but I couldn't stand him and was thrilled when Chuck won.

Yes, Chuck was a bit arrogant, but there's a saying "it's not bragging if you can back it up." Chuck strives to be the best at everything he does...he dedicates himself to every task until he's successful at it. And it's because of his dedication to learning things and not his natural brains that he succeeds. I give him credit for being such a hard worker that his social life has suffered. And even though it has, he still has better social skills than Richard.

Or maybe I just like Chuck because he's a lot like me...anal.

I was watching Strip Search on VH1 and I think one of the beauties (Lauren) was on the episode where the guys perform for the Bachelorette party.

Anyone else watch them both and notice that?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I noticed the same thing. The funny thing is that on Kept, Mauricio was on some "star for a day" reality show as a friend to the main person. Maybe the reality folks just keep going from show to show.

I figured those girls on Strip Search were all actresses otherwise what are the chances Lauren would be on both??

OK...I know that at least Red & I watched it. What did you think? We didn't really learn anything new (except to see Richard's brother) I'm glad that most of the guys became more confident around women from being on the show...liked that Shawn(? boyscout leader) kept his new 'do from the makeover. I had missed the first couple of episodes, so that was the first I saw of Joe, Brad, erika and Crystal (i think). I would watch a 2nd season of it...mostly because it was NOT a dating show (I got disappointed after the first few seasons of Average Joe...and won't watch that kind of show again)!

I taped it and only watched bits and pieces between commercials while The Cut was on. I think that Chuck isn't as obnoxious as people thought...he just gets very insecure when out of his element. And he seemed very sincere in complimenting Richard on his sense of humour.

Watching Mindi kiss Richard was just nasty though!!!

Agreed Red! She was kind of shoving her tongue into his mouth and it just looked uncomfortable. I don't think Richard even enjoyed it!!

But he did look "excited" (hard to tell in the baggy pants) when the first girl (can't remember who it was) kissed him!

Well, I taped it Wednesday night but only managed successfully to tape 32 minutes - we had 3 power failures during the hour and my DVR messed up. But I caught it last night and agree with Mindy's kiss w/Richard was really weird. But so was the blonde's attack on him.

So question - why didn't Cheryl have a partner? Was he just not there or was she eliminated first because no one chose her? My first episode was when Joe and Erika were eliminated.

And Joe is just plain funny! I did tear up when that girl from the audience asked him out.

And I hope Erika and Brad can work it out - they really seemed smitten with each other. And her "I've been waiting" comment was so sweet!

Cheryl's partner was Eric. He wasn't there? I haven't watched my tape yet...maybe he couldn't make it due to work or school?

Well, she walked in alone at the beginning of the show....and there were 7 girls and 6 guys on stage. I did FF through alot of the fluff so maybe I missed where they said he would be MIA.

I watched the whole thing and I don't recall them giving an explanation as to why he wasn't there. Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention though

No, they didn't even mention him. It's like he was never part of the show.
