I was so looking forward to this. I discussed it at work today and - without exception - everyone was bummed. It was boring, the music was a major distraction, the acting was awful, and the storyline unbelievable. Bah! (House was good, tho!)

I don't believe it stunk, but it wasn't the best. It was just ok for a fox show. Hopefully it can stick around for at least a few more episodes.

Yeah, I was really hyped up for this, and it wasn't all that great. I was disappointed, but I'll give some more time. I really didn't like the lead lady though "Bones" She really got on my nerves. The way she talked, just everything about her.

The lady's sister is a much better actress Zoey Deschannel she was in The Good Girl and some other movies way better actrees than Emily. This show didn't really suck it was just boring

I was disappointed too. Maybe it'll get better, but I expect more from David. He was doing the same ol' schtick and I know he's a better actor than he let on in the pilot.

My problem is that's too formulated. The pilot wasn't anything new or different. It's just the same old copycat of CSI and X-Files with cardboard characters and no respect for the audience.

I always thought that the Kathy Reichs books featuring Dr.Brennan would make a great script, it has a rich backdrop of Montreal and Virginia, good sexual chemistry plus real mystery's that this great character solves.
Unfortunately the show has squeezed every last drop of uniqueness out of the story and made it a very bland and very very boring show. And the actor who portray's Dr.Brennan manged to turn this character into an insipid know it all who chases a guy around begging to be Nancy Drew, pathetic. It's too bad but its a great example to any writer not to let Hollywood bleach your characters, you only wind up with a mess like this.

sounds like i'll just lay off this one. i have plenty to watch as it is, and sampling new shows gets to be a bit of a chore -- especially when a guy works nights and has to find the time to watch everything on tape. think i'll give alyson hannigan's new sitcom a try, though.

What also bothered me about it was what David's character said at the end - that he'd killed so many people as an Army Ranger sniper that he needed to make up for it with saving people's lives. 1) That's exactly Angel. The only difference is he can go into the sunlight and can boink. 2) What Ranger would ever say that? He's a soldier. My cousin in the Special Forces would hit any of his friends who said anything stupid like that. It's all that anti-military liberal BS.

It has gotten better since it picked back up after the world series. It is a lot like Numb3rs, which can get annoying at times. You know what I mean if you have ever watched both shows.

I think DB is doing a pretty good job in this role. My only complaint is with his wardrobe. Somebody needs to talk with these people about those ridiculously thin ties tha DB has to wear. We are no longer in the 1950's. Take a look at Boston Legal. That's how we dress in the modern age.

Also, this is the only show on FOX that I watch. FOX programming stinks!

but somehow one poster's disappointment with the pilot is all this website got one year later...I know people are watching because the ratings are there - in spite of the lack of advertising. So why is nobody posting on this Forum? It was hard to find for one.
Anyway, like the previous poster, Bones is the only thing I watch on Fox.
Anyway, for people just returned to Earth, a lot of things changed since the pilot - long since. It's great now! Come see it!

I watched the Pilot episode last year because I'm a huge fan of Kathy Reichs. After watching that first episode I was a little disappointed because it was so different from the books, but I decided I'd give it another chance. That was the best idea I've ever had, I've been hooked on this show since the second episode. It's amazing! What's great about it is that it's very character driven, Brennan and Booth are so much fun to watch. I think both ED and DB are very talented actress/actor. This is the first I've ever watched either of them in anything. Bones is a fantastic show!

I was disappointed by last night's Bones episode. Why did it have to end with a lesbian encounter. Last week's House episode ended the same way. What message are they pushing? These sceans are not fit for prime time TV. This season's TV programing is substandard to say the least, and now the shows I use to enjoy, turn me off.

I really enjoyed Sweets getting the girl last night.
I really HATE the whole way Angela & Hodgens broke up, and that has never made any sense to me. I know they tried to have Sweets explain it to her, but I'm not buying it.

If I ignore the Angela part then the episode was pretty good. They are making her to flaky this season.

I'd really like these uptight people to leave television meant for grown-ups to the grown-ups. If the sight of two women offends you so much, it's really your problem, not ours.

As for last weeks show. I loved the fleshing out of Booth we got to see. Bones needed to be taken down a little bit. She is a tad superior of people and Booth's brother was a jerk.

Sweets cracks me up. He tries so hard, and they do listen to him.

After watching the airplane episode, we assume the writers must be burned up. A total turn off! And the capper of Booth/Bones toasting with champange after arresting a loving son whom was a very foolish/wrong teenager.

Booth and Bones were toasting to capturing the murder who happened to be a 16 year old boy. He Murdered someone, they caught the killer. Being a loving son doesn't make it right to murder someone. Killer is a killer!

I don't like how wishy washy they have made Angela this season, it has nothing to do with her relationship with Roxy.

Bones won't suffer from the loss of your viewership.

I'm with you Freyja on Angela. I don't have a problem with her loving or liking another woman, but its the whole way they wrote it that turned me off. They made us believe that Hodgens & Her were special, and I really liked them together.

I liked it better when Angela also was a good friend to Bones, and they really have glossed over that too.

Yes, I agree Mangoness.. And I think that has been my problem with the show this year. Angela and Brennan had a great friendship and it seems like that has been tossed away, with no reason?

Angela is my favorite character always has been.. Which is why I have a big problem with the way the writers are handling her.

Angela's decisions don't make a lot of sense right now. I'm still holding out hope that it's some residual stuff left over from the Zack betrayal that if they ever get back to it, will be paid off.

I've enjoyed the season, as a whole...but i do want the old Angela back and think she's destined for Hodgens.

You won't be missed. I hear that the Noggin channel is all PG rated. Check it out.

I'm in agreement with all of you about Angela. I really like her "normally" but not this season.

As I noted in another post, I got caught up on season 1 and 2 (since I didn't start watching full time till the end of season 2) and even way back at the start Angela was not a flake. She was different and unpredictable but not like now.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they call the girlfriend her "ex ex Girlfriend?" 2 weeks ago? Then this week she's back in the picture as her girlfriend? That didn't make sense to me.

Unfortunately I think it has a lot to do with the two main actors being involved as producers. I think they need to stick to acting, and let the writers & other producers do their thing.

hopefully the Angela oddness (which has nothing to do with the girlfriend) will get sorted out and have an explanation. Right now, I don't believe that this woman, who she had a fling with is suddenly more important to her than Hodgins was.

I don't believe David Boreanaz and Emil Deschanel have anything to do with the character decisions. They've been producers since the end of season 2.

I am also hoping they reveal why Angela has been a flake all of a sudden. There is no reason for her character to take a 180 degree turn, unless it does have to do with Zach.

Right now nothing about Angela makes sense, and it seems as if she isn't happy doing her job, then again she hasn't been really happy doing that for a while now.

Another thing I can do without is the revolving door of interns, just pick one and stick with it. *sheesh* Most have been annoying anyhow lol

I'm looking forward to seeing Ryan O'Neil as Brennan's latest assistant, though. He's great as her dad.

Oh I know that's gonna be a hoot, I love Ryan O'Neil playing her dad. They did a good job with the casting on that one.

I did love the turn of Bones dad as her assistant but have enjoyed the multitude of different assistant on this season. I've been watching some of them I missed on other nights and its really hilarious when you watch a series of shows with different assistants. I am really not sure which one I enjoyed most; the young black man who really didn't want to be there, the doom and gloom guy, or the ditsy female who turned out to be Sweet's girlfriend. I can't say I disliked any one of them. I was really unhappy about losing Zack at first but now, I could easily go forth with the assistant of the month theme.
Oh and I really found the break up of Angela and Hodgins totally unbelievable. Now bring back her ex (yummy!) again and that I could believe.

I really like the different interns. They have all been entertaining in their own way, and it breaks things up a bit.

It gives the regulars someone different to interact with on a weekly basis and brings a freshness to the show. I did like the last episode with the doom n' gloom guy getting hooked up with the goth lady and almost losing the job.

I just wish they would give us more episodes in a row. I hate these huge gaps.

Fox has treated this show horribly!!!

They've moved it to every night and time slot on the schedule, but Sundays. Then they move it to a brand new time slot, air two episodes that night, take a 3 week break, air one episode, take a 3 or 4 week break. It makes no sense. Idol doesn't need to be on 4 nights a week.

Have any of you actually watched the other 4 seasons?

I have watched them all, and I have to say I really HATE this season. I just keep hoping something else will happen, and nothing does. I am keeping my fingers crossed, and not letting go just yet... .my husband is getting tired of the show too. Bummer.
