i enjoyed it. the show had a nice casual feel to it and actually made me laugh a couple of times. don't know if i'll watch again, but my guess is it will stick around.

I thought the first part was pretty funny but then I thought it got kinda dumb. I probably won't watch it again.

too many dumb jokes, and the plot might get tedious. otherwise it was entertaining, probably watch Commander in Chief next week though.

The show's premise is very stupid tp me. The first part, I also thought was funny, but after that, to many dumb joke were going on.

I loved it. I haven't actually laughed out loud that much at a sitcom in ages.

The premise is actually rather like 'Quantum Leap's' isn't it?

I too loved it. I'm usually not one for sitcoms (Scrubs excepted), but I thought I'd give this one a try. Glad I did, I laughed out loud.

I didn't see it because I was watching House over on FOX but from what I heard about it alot of people liked it and really didn't do bad in the ratings for a debut. Maybe I will check it out. If it holds up this may just be a sitcom for NBC to build upon. Cheers started it for NBC in the mid 80's then Friends ended it for them in 2004 (must see tv thursday that is.... obviously too early to tell but if this thing can pick up an audience and keep the critical acclaim coming just may be something. Hell NBC has nothing to loose with Will & Grace finished after this year and the mess that is Joey. With Everybody Loves Raymond gone CBS is now vulnerable in the sitcom department. At least IMO. It will be interesting to see just how popular Two and a Half Men is. Did it have its own large scale audience or was it just there for lazy Raymond viewers at 9:30. Time will tell.

As I wrote in reference to "How I Met Your Mother," the response here suggests that a significant percentage of viewers just aren't interested in sitcoms these days. You're not going to get a better one than this, and more than half of the posters thought it was dumb, don't intend to watch it again, or both? Just don't bellyache when the networks give you unscripted programming or six more procedurals instead; essentially, you asked for it.

Ian, your posts are usually very wise, but no, the premises of "Earl" and "Quantum Leap" are not at all alike.

Yeah, I'm not sure it will be something I watch regularly. I don't think that I relate to the situations. I do laugh, but man...I'm not redneck enough I suppose.

And maybe I just need some clarification on the relation to Quantum Leap. I loved that show, but don't see the comparison. Maybe you need to explain what you meant?
