By the way, I would like to state for the record. I have been watching TV for several decades and in all that time there is only one show that I got upset and depressed over when it left the air, and it wasn’t Reunion.

I try not to blame networks too much when low-rated things are cancelled. Reunion is doing horrible, i like it and all, but really it would be pretty dumb too keep it around. They've kepy my fav show AD around because of critical acclaim. The Critix hated reunion. The only time ive been extremely angry about a cancellation is Miss Match, because i felt NBC didnt give it a chance.

I think there are arguments that Reunion is not doing as horribly as people think. It's ratings are low, but until this week (after it was announced the mystery would not be resolved), its ratings were comparable to or better than just about every other show Fox has aired on Thursday night at 9 pm. And that was with a weaker lead-in from The OC than Fox's past Thursday night shows have had. Reunion also has a pretty rabid fanbase, and I suspect there are a significant number of people recording the show that are not reflected in the ratings.

The fact is that Fox has nothing that will do well in that timeslot. The comedies that will replace Reunion in February will be slaughtered against CSI and the Olympics. I think Fox should have bit the bullet and given this one to the fans. It won't do better with any other shows, but it could have made them believe it is worth getting invested in future Fox shows. I know that I will not be watching any freshman dramas on Fox next year. If a show survives the full season, I can rent the DVD from Netflix and then make a decision about season two.

Also, I disagree with the person who said Fox promoted Reunion. While Fox promoted Reunion over the summer, it pulled nearly all of its advertising after the presidential address bumped the second episode. Other than a few promos during shows like Wife Swap or during The OC, there were almost no Reunion promos. It was almost never mentioned during the baseball playoffs or during football games, which are Fox's biggest promotional opportunities. There would have been ways to promote the show, using the weekly "twists" to drive interest, but Fox just didn't bother. I think Fox wrote the show off early, but just waited as long as possible to make the announcement.

If I was a Reunion fan, if I was told that Reunion would not get a end then I would stop watching. However to be fair the show was dropping alot, however it did have to face CBS's CSI, NBC's The Apprentice, & The WB's Everwood.

They promoted it alot thats why it had a good premiere, the presidential adress hurt it a little.

Actually, Reunion had a good premiere and the second episode, when it finally aired, did not have a large dropoff. The real dropoff occurred after the baseball hiatus, but the show stabilized at a 2.7-2.9, which was pretty much where past Fox shows at Thursday have settled despite having a stronger lead-in from The OC.

As for the presidential address, it really did hurt the show in ways that may not be reflected directly in the ratings. It killed the opportunity to have the second episode air before CSI and Apprentice started. (I also think the second episode was an improvement over the pilot and might have helped keep people around.)

More importantly, the preemption meant that the fourth episode slated to air before baseball did not air until later. The episode ended with the cliffhanger about who Sam married and was designed to hook viewers so they would come back after baseball. I think it would have been successful; if you look at viewer reactions to episode four, it was one of the episodes that got a lot of raves from viewers. With that cliffhanger, there would have been more buzz during the baseball hiatus and a hook for promotions -- showing the final scene of Will urging Sam to run away with him while Craig yells for her to open the door -- with the tagline "Who did she choose? Find out when Reunion returns in November." So I definitely think the loss of an episode before the baseball hiatus hurt the show immensely.

Am I correct they are cancelling Arrested Development? I think it's a shame; we just got a FOX station again recently after several years w/o one (don't ask why--long story), so I'm just now "discovering" this show. I think it's one of the best comedies I've seen in a long time, but the ones I like are usually the ones that don't last (see: NBC's Freaks & Geeks, and Homicide: Life on the Street).

I love it too.it's on DVD, the prices are good for it at Best Buy. second season is my favorite. FOX han't officially cancelled it yet, but the chances of them keeping it around are small.

Dude, Wonderfalls DID NOT SUCK! It was ahead of its time and probably could've worked in today's TV lanscape.

Here is a list of FOX shows that were cancelled WAY before their time:
1) Firefly!!!!!!!
2) John Doe!!!!!!
3) Fastlane!!!!!!
4) Wonderfalls!!!
5) Pasadena!!!!!!
6) Tru Calling!!!
And that is just to name a few......Oh well

AMEN on Miss Match!!!! Alicia Silverstone was AWESOME in that show and I loved it! Funny how it got cancelled because it couldn't hang with Joan Of Arcadia the first season and then Joan gets cancelled in its second season.....
