There has been no OFFICIAL word of cancellation for Arrested Developement, but they cut the episode order down from 22 to 13 so that AIN'T good! On a good note, TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly said that Showtime and ABC are VERY interested in acquiring the sitcom, should FOX decide they do not want it anymore.

Dude, Wonderfalls DID NOT SUCK! It was ahead of its time and probably could've worked in today's TV lanscape.

Couldn't agree more! Fox did WF absolutely NO favors airing it on Fridays and then, even worse, Thursdays. I think Monday had an open slot or two, but they probably aired some stupid reality show there instead.

I can't see ABC taking it--not "Disney" enough (well, neither is Desperate Housewives, but it's at least more conventional, which most ABC shows seem to be).

AMEN on Miss Match!!!! Alicia Silverstone was AWESOME in that show and I loved it! Funny how it got cancelled because it couldn't hang with Joan Of Arcadia the first season and then Joan gets cancelled in its second season.....

That is a show that I forgot about. I liked it much better than Joan of A. It is pretty sad the way Fox dumps shows so fast that we forget they existed. But now that you brought it up it helped me recall another show that was cut before it had time to grow

I'm pretty sure Miss Match was on NBC, not FOX.

Yep, it was an NBC show.

The show was better than I had originally expected, as I only started watching it because of Alicia Silverstone. Every time she makes that sexy pouty face... Well, let's not go there.

I would agree that more than any other network, Fox pulls shows too quickly. (Most of you probably don't even remember Profit or Adventures of Brisco County Jr.) I didn't even bother with Reunion because I knew it didn't stand a chance. It was in a horrible time slot. But the real problem is the quality of the show. I watched Wonderfalls and I thought it was horrible. If it really was a great show like everyone says, it could have lasted more than four episodes. I know different people have different tastes in programming, and that's why we have cable. The networks are basically just trying to reach the mainstream -- what the average person enjoys watching. Reunion and Wonderfalls would have been better suited for some cable network.

(Disclaimer -- I realize there are other factors, like time slot and the money spent on promoting or advertising a show...)

Fox has two different audiences angry about the cancellations of different types of shows. There are the fans of shows like Arrested Development, Wonderfalls and Firefly and the fans of the rather bad teen type shows like Reunion or Tru Calling which were horrible shows that deserved to be canceled far before they actually were.

My problem with Fox is that there is no intent by the current execs at the network to put on programming with much intelligence and just want to appeal to the masses rather than actually airing good shows. They have the potential with shows like Prison Break and Bones, but Fox has made it clear that they don't intend to ever air any show I'd actually watch any more.

I'm angrier at Fox for what they did to shows with lower ratings to try to make them more popular with idiots that watch reality programming than actually cancelling them. And until that type of mentality changes at Fox, I'm not interested in watching any of their shows.

Fox canceled: "Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles", a good show with a small but loyal fan base. They learned nothing from watching the meteoric success of the Star Trek franchise after IT was canceled. Unable to learn from history, they are destined to repeat the kinds of mistakes that later come back to byte one in the butt. It ain't over, even when it IS over. Trekies raised hell. Opinions changed. Someone has to see a pattern here and pick it up for syndication. Small niche markets sell stuff too.
