WOW! One of the most powerful episodes ever on Special Victims Unit...though the subject matter with the little boy was hard to sit through without getting physically ill. I suspect both will get Emmy nods for this episode but I am kinda bothered by the end.

Has anyone heard about either Mariska or Christopher leaving Special Victims Unit...or do you think it is just a storyline plot? I don't want them to stop being partners...and I started hating it when the original L&O starting switching too many people.

Wow, ripped from the headlines, or course the ending was changed. As far as Mariska or Christopher leaving Special Victims Unit, I think it is just part of the storyline plot.

Of course she is pregnant, but then why would she want a new partner, maybe he wants to leave. I hope not.

I think it is just because Mariska will be taking maturnity leave so she has to be replaced for a while.
When she is ready to come back they will probably have something happened that will throw the 2 of them back together working and they will discover how well they worked togather before andhow much they miss working together and request to be partners again.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It was a great episode...glad you posted to talk about it.....Mariska is going on mat leave and is being replaced for a few shows....she will be back and as partners again.....I was really sad when the boy was killed.....and Lou Diamond was great....what a great performance....

The captain will send Mariska to another precinct.....but will be back....

WHEW!!!!! Thanks guys...had no idea Mariska was pregnant. I am glad to know because I don't want them to change a single thing on Special Victims Unit as far as the cast is concerned...it is perfect the way it is.

I just watched the episode tonight and was wondering as well if this is gonna stay with them not being partners. I knew she was pregnant but I thought she was gonna go visit relatives or when she got shot go on sick leave or something like that. They better become partners again. Have you noticed thought that for a lot of the episodes lately its not focusing on those two. Its a lot of Ice Cube and Eric is it. Just saying...

Mariska Hargitay is on maternity leave, so in the beginning they commented that she was undercover on a case. After last night's ep, the new gal has 5 more shows.
