I remain very skeptical.
There is no credit given for where that news blurb came from, and there is only one article regarding “gossip” with someone “who knows loads of survivors”
No one liked All Stars 1. Was it 3 or 4 people who quit outright and how many of the others didn’t even really try.? The general opinion is that The Game just doesn’t work for people who know each other.

I believe only Morasca and Sue Hawk quit. And I liked All-Stars... was fun to watch Boston Rob make mincemeat out of the others. I agree The Game works better with players who don't know each other, but I'll still gladly watch an All-Stars 2 season.
