It seems less forced to me...less put on and more natural. He seems to have a sweeter disposition even though he can still get exercised. AND... I'm learning a whole lot of new terms that would get bleeped on the American version like "you're pulling my plonker."

I've heard a lot of British terms and have watched nearly all the Ramsay shows. But, I think that expression passed me by! I get it, but I've never heard it before.

Last night's show was good. No gross food in the fridge, no messy kitchen, nothing left sitting out that would make you sick. I think the owner/chef was just a nice guy who didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. He should make his wife the manager and let her get rid of the current one.....

Yeah, that manager was confused as to who the owners were. I'm surprised he didn't get the ax after yelling at the wife. Looks like he turned himself around though. Sometimes, second chances are a good thing.

Just another reason why I like the British version better... even though they're speaking english... most of the time, I can't understand them. Makes it much more entertaining.

...and because Ramsey mostly lives in the UK... its easier for him to re-visit the estabishments.

On a tour while abroad years ago I was stopped in the hall by one of the Brits in our group(Americans, Brits and Canadians were grouped together). He was asking me something and I had to stop him and apologize and tell him, "I know we're both speaking English but I didn't understand a single word of what you just said."

After 3 viewings I've decided I do like the BBC version more. It seems more intimate.

BBC America will run this little info piece just before some of its programs telling people how to puch the closed captioning because of the British accent. its funny in that one time they say not even the British can understand the accent all time and then another time the announcer says something like this is how you would sound if you hadn't dumped our tea into the Boston harbor.

I've heard the tea comment!

I LOVE the accent. I think its sexy as it can be. But I watch EastEnders every week. And yep! I've got that closed captioning on every time!!!!
