Still don't like Shayne...she seems like a typical wannabe starlet...but I thought Matt was kinda smarmy when I first saw him...so good luck to 'em.

Here's Shayne in (almost) all her glory...

Wasn't shocked he picked Shayne at all...from the 2nd episode there seemed to be something different with them compared to the rest even when they fought during that episode. I'm ready for The Bachelorette!

Bachelor Matt Grant & Fiancée Shayne Lamas Split

Bachelor Matt Grant and fiancée Shayne Lamas have ended their short and often-rocky relationship, they tell PEOPLE.

"We tried hard to make it work but we realized that we were both heading in different directions," the two said in a statement to PEOPLE. "We truly care about each other and will remain close friends."

Neither would elaborate.

Grant, 27, and Lamas, 22, have been plagued with reports of trouble since their televised engagement on ABC's The Bachelor: London Calling in May.

One month later Grant told PEOPLE that he had moved out of Lamas's Century City condominium, citing a need for "space."

At the time Grant said the engagement was still on. "This stuff makes us stronger," he told PEOPLE.

Grant picked Lamas, an actress and the daughter of Lorenzo Lamas, from 25 female contestants vying for the English financier. In the show's conclusion, Grant not only presented the winning rose to Lamas, but also got down on one knee and popped the question with a 2.85-carat platinum and diamond eternity ring.

Bachelor Matt Grant: It's Not Cool to Keep My Ring

Despite his ex-fiancée’s claims, Bachelor Matt Grant is definitely not okay with Shayne Lamas keeping their engagement ring.

“It wasn’t a ‘gift’ so much,” the British-born financier tells PEOPLE. “It’s not a television or a handbag. It’s a symbol of marriage that didn’t happen.”

Lamas, 22, recently told PEOPLE she planned to keep the 2.85-carat Tacori platinum-and-diamond eternity ring “safe and clean and in a glass box — like a glass slipper.” She claimed Grant was fine with that, adding, “He wants to come over and look at it.”

But the star of The Bachelor: London Calling insists that conversation never took place.

“We never discussed this,” he says. “I never said it was cool to just keep it. If she said we spoke about it, she just made it up. Sometimes she thinks she can say anything and I’ll go along with it.”

Almost as soon as the final rose was presented, Grant and Lamas were dogged by rumors of romantic discord. They finally announced their split earlier this month.

Grant, 27, says he doesn’t want the ring back. But he does think Lamas — daughter of TV’s Lorenzo Lamas — should auction off the bauble for charity.

“Let’s have something good come out of this,” he explains. “Why hold onto it? What’s the point?”

Grant’s new proposal: Auction off the ring and have each donate their half of the proceeds to a favorite charity. (Grant’s pet cause is the abolition of puppy mills).

Grant says that the show’s sponsors paid for the engagement ring, which he valued at $65,000. So it’s not his money at stake.

“But at the end of the day, it was mine to give to her,” he argues. “And thus I’m like, ‘C’mon!’ I’m sure Shayne will agree it’s best going to charity.”

Bachelor Star Matt Grant Finds Love Again

Former Bachelor Matt Grant has not given up on love since his split with fiancee Shayne Lamas. The British hunk has fallen again — this time for his British-born public relations rep.

Grant, the star of The Bachelor: London Calling, says his relationship with Sarah Robarts, who’s a mother of two, has evolved into a serious emotional bond.

“It’s turned into the best relationship I have ever been in,” Grant tells PEOPLE. “I’m completely in love. She’s extremely beautiful inside and out. She’s one in a million.”

When the two first met following Grant’s appearance (and engagement to Lamas) on The Bachelor, it was all business. But even then Grant says, “I couldn’t help but to think, ‘Man she’s hot.’”

Grant’s rocky relationship with Lamas officially ended in July. Months later, Grant and Robarts went out for drinks that turned into a date. “We connected on every level,” he says. “If she had been on The Bachelor, there would not have been a competition. It would’ve been the shortest season ever.”

And the couple’s 11-year age difference — she is 39, he is 28 — is not a deterrent for Grant. “Age is not an issue,” he says. “Sarah is very much on my level. The only thing is I’ve had to bring my game up since The Bachelor. She’s way too intelligent for some of the talk I used on the show.”

Yet, the two are not rushing the relationship. “I’m trying to play this cool, but I feel blessed,” says Grant. “We have a wonderful relationship and I hope we continue forever.”

He adds: “It’s just so ironic that I came all the way over from England to find love on The Bachelor in America. And in the end, I fall in love with a Brit.”

I was glad that he got rid of drunk Kelly, and glad he kept Noelle, but I wish he'd kept Holly over Marshana.

Right now the only two normal ones are Amanda with the meeps and Noelle. [/color] <img src="/images/graemlins/bluesigh.gif" alt="" />
